August 19, 2011 | Friday | 0 Comments

Back in 2009, Jane Litte and I did a few podcasts about romance novels. We’re BACK. And the audio is NOT AS GOOD. My apologies for that. But we’re back, and we’re talking about what we’re reading, and which Harlequin Presents we both enjoy. Plus, we discuss at length a historical romance that’s coming out in December that we both adored and cannot wait to share with readers. You can subscribe to our feed at Feedburner or at iTunes. My Initial Reaction to the iPad

January 27, 2010 | Wednesday | 104 Comments

I am underwhelmed. Here’s my initial thoughts on Apple’s big announcement, culled from Notepad and Twitter. - iPad?! Really?! REALLY? Gosh, I’m sorry I no longer have a Nook now. They would have been great partners. The iPad, now available in Light, Maxi, and Super (8Gb, 16Gb 64Gb)? As Tessa Dare said, are there NO women at Apple who could have given them the heads up (HA) that this is a BAD NAME? Please someone tell me they’ll just name the next device iVAGINA and be done with it? Is this how they’re targeting female technology consumers and book readers?… read more »

Summer Songs: The Recommended Playlist

January 06, 2010 | Wednesday | 104 Comments

Over the past week, I’ve asked Twitter for some recommendations that had nothing to do with romance, but a few folks asked me to compile the list of responses and share it, so I’m doing so here. It’s all below the fold - obviously this has little to jack all to do with romance novels, but if you’re looking for some music, this might help you out. In response to my tweet asking for warm-weather music, here’s the master list of every recommendation I received. It rocked my socks, and might warm your feet, too, if it’s as cold where… read more »

Sony 505 Review: A Report from Karen

September 21, 2009 | Monday | 17 Comments

So I’ve been looking at ebook readers for a while, as I’m a voracious reader and I am rapidly running out of space for all my books.  Like with my iPod I wanted the freedom to have options with my reading on the go, not to mention not having to lug heavy hardcovers. The main thing keeping me back at the time?  The variety of formats and the price.  There was no way I was going shelling out $350 Canadian for something when I couldn’t be sure I was going to be able to buy books wherever I want and… read more »

Sony 700 Review: by Test Driver Tami

August 29, 2009 | Saturday | 23 Comments

PERMISSION GRANTED Now that I’ve poked, prodded, played with, dropped, and otherwise abused my Sony PRS-700 eReader (thanks again to the generous folks at Smart Bitches, Trashy Books for giving me the opportunity to test drive one of these babies!) it’s time for The Review. In order to fit my review in the wordcount requested by the Smart Bitches, I basically had to resort to bulleted lists and incomplete sentences. It was horrifying. Worse than that, it was boring. Drier than the thanksgiving turkey at Aunt Edith’s. Taking pity on me, the Smart Bitches graciously permitted me to ramble. *cracks… read more »
