While looking online for my favorite eBay treasure (romance cover art paintings) I found Y’ALL ARE IN A PEEN from yesterday, and today…. giant floating cats.
Specifically, women that turn into oceans where giant floating cats live. And smaller erect women howl at the moon. Or a lighthouse. Probably at the lighthouse. Stupid lighthouse. All erect and phallus-y. Here, have a look:
I don’t know if I can tell you how sad I am that this auction ended.

It’s time for… Accidental Dong, Romance Style, with your hosts, Kay Hooper, Gena Showalter, and Kresley Cole! Well, technically they’re not the hosts, but they’ve got dong-ful books. If you’re not familiar with Accidental Dong, there’s this hideously addictive website full of… accidental peens. And then there’s the sharp eyes of romance readers, where, much to my gasping shock, there are ACCIDENTAL PEENS EVERYWHERE. For example: accidental old school peen? Oh, yes. First: this eBay item, an original cover illustration for a Loveswept romance. Check out that skirt. That HAIR. That shirt open but STILL TUCKED IN! Gosh, it’s almost…

In memory of Edith Layton, Jane and I are hosting a fundraiser/auction/giveaway to benefit the North Shore Animal League. Layton’s daughter Susie Felber told me that while her mother was very quiet about her battle with ovarian cancer, she was not at all shy about “her insane love of animals,” and so the family decided any memorial contributions should be directed to the NSAL. With some help from friends and authors, we’re putting together a three part effort. First: if you’d like to make a contribution in memory of Edith Layton, you can do so online , or to any…

From the “Holy Shit” Department comes an article that was highlighted in today’s Publisher’s Lunch and dispatched to me by TeddyPig (Hi Teddy!): the Wall Street Journal reports that Random House is stopping publication of The Jewel of Medina and giving the rights back to the author, six days before the publication date out of fear of fallout from the Muslim community over the book’s content. The book by Sherry Jones is a work of historical fiction based on the life of Aisha, one of the wives of the prophet Mohammed. Random House paid a $100k advance for the work…

From the “Now See Here, Motherfucker, We Work Hard On Those Reviews” department comes word of an eBay store swiping the reviews written by other users on Amazon and review blogs, and posting them on their own book listings under their own name. The EDson Financial Group has posted over 220 reviews on eBay, and according to a few online sources, including Joyfully Reviewed, those beefy reviews were swiped from other sources, usually from among Amazon featured reviews. Kathleen Gilligan has posted about it and has started notifying reviewers on Amazon via the comment feature that their writing has been…
