From Patrik: These are some AWESOME ads for books from Jashanmal Books in Dubai: I like the Harry Potter one. From Bronwyn Parry: Best placement of the ‘Look Inside’ arrow EVER: Colonoscopies! Colonscopies for all! If there’s no buttsecks in that book, someone’s going to be mighty put out. read more »

Private Sessions by Tori Carrington

I will state upfront that I had an ulterior motive for reading this book. I read it for the anal. Yup, you read that right. Blazing anal. Blazing the Hershey highway. Firing up the backdoor action. Hot poop chute lovin’. Avast me hearties, there be anal in this novel. While at RT, I heard about this book from Andrew Schaeffer, who reviews the Blaze line for RT Book Reviews. You should have seen my face. I absolutely did not believe him. But no, there is anal. He even says so in his review. I was hoping to like the story,… read more »

HaBO: Ahoy Captain

Pam writes: Hi! I heard through a friend that you gals have a feature called Help A Bitch Out, and was wondering if you could help me. I read this book about 13 years ago. Some of the following may be true; some not. This is just what I remember. Book had to be written early 1980’s or 1990’s. I think there may have been a logo on the cover: Heartfire, Zebra, etc… Was about a young woman and her brother traveling together. Seems like the ship captain wants to bed the sister, but the brother has sex with him… read more »

Cowgirl Up and Ride by Lorelei James

May 25, 2009 | Monday | 24 Comments

I have it on good authority that the following names will appear in the next Lorelei James cowboy erotica novel, seeing as Cody, Cade, Kane, and Colt are all taken: Kale Corn Cart Kelp Kilt Kern Curd Kock Crap Cold Crud Clap Kale and Corn might both be in the closet for one another, and Kern is definitely a cowboy-cum-computer-programmer, but we’ll have to see what happens in the next few books. I’m not sure if I can handle the multi-partner sex scene between Crap, Clap, Crud, and Kock. And yes, it was often difficult to keep the one-syllable characters… read more »

Oleander House by Ally Blue

January 28, 2009 | Wednesday | 21 Comments

I downloaded this book as a free Kindle offer from Sam Hain and read it while commuting. Even on the bus at 6am I was creeped out at the start of the novel. It was creepy, bizarre and in the beginning it gave me goosebumps. By the end, my eyebrows were permanently raised. Oleander House has a terrible history. The current owner is sure something is haunting the place (no shit Sherlock) after an unseen creature bites a young child touring the house as a local historic property, and the bite becomes infected with an unknown substance, killing the child… read more »

First, thank to N. and Brandyllyn for sending me the second best line to ever appear on the internet, right after “I’m in ur ass, savin ur life.” Chris’s Invincible Super-Blog reads an episode of Tarot and the best thing to ever happen to my day occurs at the bottom. Enjoy. Seriously. Not work safe, but fuck that, it’s Sunday. And suppose you need a getaway for the holiday weekend (if you’re in the US and in a state that grants Monday off), consider the FantaSuites hotel chain, located in Wisconsin, Indiana, and, my favorite, Bumsville, Minnesota. (Bums? Oh, yah,… read more »

Euphemsims: What What?

January 14, 2009 | Wednesday | 67 Comments

Have you ever wondered to yourself, “Self, I wonder what Sarah thinks about at 6:40 am before she’s had caffeine?” Well, wonder no more. Here’s a sample! Following the discussion during our last liveblog about the use of the word “prostate” during a sex scene in K.A. Mitchell’s Custom Ride, I got to thinking about the word “prostate.” Within the context of m/m romance and sex scenes, the prostate is big pimpin, as stimulation thereof can yield mad happy pants, if you know what I’m saying. Yet the discussion we had questioned the use of the word itself, since it’s… read more »
