The 2009 Brenda Novak Online Auction to Benefit Diabetes Research is on. This year’s goal $300,000.00. First day total money raised? $42,222.00 That is some big money - and I bet the goal is in reach by 15 May. The items offered are amazing, as usual, from from once-in-a-lifetime experiences like trips and vacations or a night in Inn Boonsboro, Nora Roberts’ romance-themed bed and breakfast in Boonsboro, Maryland (trust me, it’s so worth the trip). Dear Author donated an adspace, and we have two items on the auction as well: the middle column adpsace currently occupied by the Bosoms,…

1. Alyssa Day brought me bosom cookies. There is nothing better than sugar and baked goods in homage to bosoms. Thank you! And Barb Ferrer made the trip for the day just to say howdy to me and to her buddies. 2. So many people stopped to meet me, which made me incredibly happy. Side Note: a very kind person stopped me while I was setting up my computer at Mr. Romance and said, “I know this is rude, but I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your web site.” Please know: NOT RUDE! AWESOME! I’m often moving…

Let me just say, that if you guys open a hotel, I’m coming to live there. Picking a winner for the heaping pile of signed books was not easy! Runners Up: - Cirlot described rooms that I wanted to go play in, and so many of you came up with romantic pairs that were perfect. - Tessa’s Cal and Min from Bet Me suggested by many! - Meaghan’s Jamie and Claire from Outlander - Saam’s Margaret and Thornton from North and South - the BBC version, if you’re not familiar with it. - Kerry D’s Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe…

After the signing at Turn the Page Bookstore, where the people are awesome and the diet Pepsi is DAMN cold, I asked each author to sign a book of their choice for a giveaway on this here hot pink page of Bitchery madness. I carried that giant pile to the cash register and managed not to drop any, then I carefully packed them in the trunk of the car and drove them home, where they are now hidden in the china cabinet of my house, where toddlers and cats fear to tread. Seriously, signed books? OMG. SO precious. I mentioned…

Bright and early tomorrow morning, I’ll be hopping in the Prius (gets better gas milage than my car) and heading southwest to the fine, windy roads of Boonsboro, Maryland, to take part in the Turn the Page Bookstore WRW Pre-Retreat Signing from 11 am until 2pm. I’ll be signing copies of the Bosoms (the book, not my own), along with Nora Roberts, J D Robb, P. C. & Kristin Cast, Susan Donovan, Mary Blayney, Darlene Gardner, Donna Kauffman, Sally MacKenzie, Michelle Monkou, Sophia Nash, Carla Neggers, Kathleen Gilles Seidel, Michelle Willingham & Rebecca York. Stay tuned all day Friday for…

I’ll be updating this page as more events are scheduled, but as of today, here are all the places you can meet either Sarah or Candy. We’re still waiting on word as to whether we’ll be appearing together this summer. That’ll set the tectonic plates a-dancing, for sure. I’m trying out this site called BookTour.com, where you can see all the events I have lined up online, subscribe to an RSS feed. I’m also listing the events I know of for certain below, because (a) BookTour didn’t have everything available, such as the Princeton Conference and Lady Jane’s Salon, and…

Thanks to Quichepup, we have a very rare event. We have word of the fourth positive press article dealing with romance and romance authors. Between the Sudbury Star, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and the USA Today, the genre is having a lovely press fiesta. And hello, Oklahoma! There’s more! Since a massive and deadly tornado ripped through the state on Tuesday killing 9 people, good news of happy endings, as Quichepup put it, is always welcome, but more so right now. The Oklahoman newspaper ran two articles today, one on NYT Bestselling author Gena Showalter and fellow Oklahoman and Blaze author…

Grab your suitcase and gas up the car: Nora Roberts’ Inn BoonsBoro is opening this weekend. In a spiffy article in USA Today, reporter Carol Memmott received a tour of the new building - and wrote up a lovely account of the inn and Nora’s career, with no sniffing down the nose at the romance genre. I might have to lie down a moment. My favorite quote is Nora, who is also known on Fandom_Wank as “Maid of Wyn,” talking about how difficult it was to come up with seven happy romantic couples on whom she could base the decor…
