When I first started this site with Candy, I didn’t know much about anything concerning publishing. Then I learned a lot, and a lot fast, and I’ve met amazing people - such as Malle Vallik, Dictatrix of All Things Digital (that’s totally not her title, obviously) and one smart person when it comes to looking at how women read, and thinking about and predicting how the way we read is changing. Romance writers have, or have had, a myriad of jobs. One of my favorite things about romance writer bios is how one snapshot of a writer’s career history could include everything from taxonomy to tax preparation. Once upon a time, Candy wrote a review for Shayla Black’s Decadent which has since become one of the most linked-to portions of the site, and was the nadir of a little-known gem of internet delight known as “LOLPorn.” Seriously, people link to that entry with astonishing regularity. This weekend we are all about cake at my house - someone small and mighty is having a birthday (“OMG HAS IT BEEN A YEAR WTF UNDERNEATH THAT ALSO BBQ” is what the cake should say but alas, cooler heads prevailed). Too bad this cake isn’t available in13 more years, because everyone knows, the traditional 14th birthday is the Man Titty Birthday.
