Tonight at 9pm, the window below will go live and we'll be discussing Sandra Hyatt's Lessons in Seduction. I hope you'll join us, as it should be fun.
Because Ms. Hyatt passed away last August, there won't be a Q&A portion, and I'll be ending the chat a bit earlier than normal. But during the chat I am aiming for mayhem, merriment, and a great discussion of this book, which I really enjoyed. I hope you did, too.
Talk to you tonight!

Time for the Sizzling Book Club Chat for Courtney Milan's Unclaimed. I have seen a few people talking on Twitter and Facebook about how much they liked this book - and that they can't wait to talk about it. ME TOO.
The window below the fold will go live at 9pm ET with chatting and mayhem, and Courtney will join us for Q&A at 10pm. I hope you'll bring a glass of wine and yourself to the chat tonight, as it promises to be a fun and lively discussion.
See you then!

I thought to myself several times this weekend while shopping online (what? crowds? No, thanks.) that it was a shame there weren't more ebook sales on Black Friday or Cyber Monday or whatever else the sale days are called. But then, I forgot that AllRomance (sponsor of the Sizzling Book Club and generally awesome at customer service) is offering a Cyber Monday 50% Rebate sale. That means any title that's incentive-eligible (i.e. not agency) - conveniently marked with this symbol: - is eligible for a 50% rebate. That's Harlequin, Samhain, Kensington, Sourcebooks -- anyone but the Big Six. Remember when Fictionwise…

It’s time for the October book club pick - and we’re going to be reading another historical, but a More Different Historical. The Caribbean! Pirates! AND cross dressing! ETA: I’m opening the contest for an additional day since the site was down this weekend - have at it! The October book is Darlene Marshall’s Sea Change. Here’s the summary: American privateer Captain David Fletcher needs a surgeon for his wounded brother. But when he captures a British merchantman in the Caribbean, what he gets is Charley Alcott, an apprentice physician barely old enough to shave. Needs take priority over skill,…

To celebrate Georgette Heyer’s birthday, Sourcebooks has put their entire digital collection of Heyer novels on sale for $1.99. NICE. Ready to shop? Hope so! I struggled recently with The Grand Sophy, which I read last week, but Heyer’s books are, unquestionably, quite a legacy to the romance community. $1.99 is quite a nice price, too. The books should be at this price from 15-21 August at most major e-retailers, though sometimes there is a delay with switching the price. You may have to check back. Here’s a comprehensive list for you. I’ve tried to find links to many major…

Jane and I are back again with our tabulation of this past week’s bestsellers, calculated using the order reports from our affiliate programs. Jane’s commentary: “I think the $.99 price of Courtney Milan’s book is what giving the story staying power on the list. Grace Burrowes and Susanna Kearsley’s stories are part of Amazon’s Sunshine deals.” What are you trying to say, there, J? We like bargains and sales? Heh. I should say we do. Books that are avidly recommended all over the place, too, I think. Unlocked by Courtney Milan Yours To Keep by Shannon Stacey Captives of the…

I missed my chance to post last week’s list, but fresh off the snazzy calculating spreadsheet is this week’s list of bestsellers, as calculated by the affiliate code sales from Dear Author and myself. Mmmm, sweet, delicious data! The power of the Chase autobuy is something to behold, y’all, if this week’s list is any indication. Captives of the Night by Loretta Chase Before the Witches: An Original Novella by Karina Bliss The Wind & the Sea by Marsha Canham Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison Christmas Magic on the Mountain by Melissa McClone The…

They hit it off, and Zoe ends up agreeing to pose as Sean’s girlfriend at his family’s Thanksgiving. Dust off those digital reading devices, because it’s Sizzling Book Club pick time, and I’ve picked a digital novella for your reading pleasure. This month’s pick is, I kid you not, a steampunk erotic paranormal wild west romance novella: Wilder’s Mate by Moira Rogers. I will have to re-read to see if there’s any mention of Almack’s in there because if it were also somehow Regency it would be INSANE. But I don’t think so. Unless, of course, one of the bordellos in the book is named Almack’s. I’ll have to ask the authors. If you’ve been curious about steampunk…

It’s not so much sizzling in northern coastal Scotland in the winter, but this book is amazing for it’s warmth, the strength of the writing, and the story-within-a-story. As I announced in the Book Club Chat last week, our April Book Club pick is Susanna Kearsley’s The Winter Sea. Previously published in Canada as ‘Sophia’s Secret,’ and a nominee for both a RITA and a RNA award, this book is emotional, historically fascinating, rich and worth savoring. Here’s the description: In the spring of 1708, an invading Jacobite fleet of French and Scottish soldiers nearly succeeded in landing the exiled…
