Smart Bitches and Heaving Bosoms on NPR

by SB Sarah | by SB Sarah | April 10, 2009 | Friday at 9:46 pm | 17 Comments

NPR Heads up! Our interview with NPR’s All Things Considered will air tomorrow, Saturday 11 April. Local airtimes vary but you can find your local NPR station and check their schedule as to when it’ll air.

The interview was over 30 minutes long but I know we’re being edited down to about five or six minutes. I hope the good parts air but who knows? I do know that the sound technician with me in Connecticut was laughing, and the sound engineer with Candy out in Oregon gave up his plans to read a book while we taped and listened in to the whole interview - then old her we needed our own radio show. (Heh. How awesome would THAT be?)

All Things Considered will also be adding content to their website tomorrow evening or early Sunday morning, including the aired segment, an excerpt of the book, a picture of Mavis, who plays a very special role in Beyond Heaving Bosoms, our patented Old Skool or New Skool Romance Flow Chart, and possibly a clip of us recommending romance novels.

I have it on good authority that the producer at All Things Considered was up until 5 am last night reading one of the books we recommended. I’m trying to find out which one - my bet is Candy’s favorite, Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase.

More Bosoms-oriented events (and really, who ISN’T Bosoms oriented?) coming soon, as the official launch date for the Bosoms in bookstores is Tuesday 14 April.

Now, commence epic shpilkis (if you haven’t looked that up, it’s Yiddish and roughly translates to “ants in your pants”) as I hope the interview is as fun and as favorable to the genre as the full length conversation was.

I’m only mentioning this because it would trip me up and cause me to miss the broadcast, so it might happen to someone else as challenged as I (if that person exists, lol):  Saturday is April 11th.

Heh. Can you tell that I’m nervous? I can’t even get the date right.

    Thanks, ma’am.

Well, if you guys ever wanted to do your own radio show, you could start with an online version: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/

    I’d totally listen :)

I’d listen too. What a nice alternative to some of the idiots on the air, who literally don’t know their asses from a hole in the ground. Although I would like to plant their asses in one.

I listen anyway, whenever I can, so this is a done deal.

    Congrats, ladies. Bitches rule!

I can’t find the schedule for our KUNR station, but will listen all day if that’s what it takes. And a huge second or third for the SBTB radio network or show. Priceless.

I would listen to the Sarah and Candy show, no question!  Can’t wait to hear this interview.

We get All Things Considered program content on Australian News Radio. It would be a blast to be in the car and have the Heaving Bosoms on the radio!

*Tries (and probably fails) to work out the time difference.*

So the segment will go on the website sometime overnight GMT?  Or even later?  Drat.  I’ll have to wait until Sunday afternoon or evening to listen.

Not that I really mind that much, because I have something to read while I’m waiting now that my copy of BHB arrived in the post today!

Well, my local listings say it’s on M-F, not on the weekend at all. And it runs 2 hours.  I guess I’ll go the website route.

Just in case you missed it (like I did) the All Things Considered Website says that the audio for the show will be online around 7 pm eastern time.  Oh, and I would totally listen to a SBTB radio show!  How awesome would that be!

All I can say is awesomeness.  I couldn’t find an NPR i could listen to on the radio, (I am too poor for XM) so I am going to have to wait till it is posted here.  Thats ok though I know it will be worth the wait.  I plan on using easter money to pick up BHB on amazon, yay!  Because whats better then reading a good book and biting the heads off those evil chocolate bunnies.

For those of you who don’t want to wait for it to be posted, or can’t find a local station, you can go to michiganradio.org and listen to a live stream/feed of that station…according to the website schedule, All Things Considered is on today at 5pm EST.
