Sizzling Book Club Pick: Courtney Milan’s Unraveled

It's fun to read a trilogy and see the complete story of all the featured characters, so I'm making this month's selection the Courtney Milan Hat Trick: Unraveled, better known as “Smite's Story.”

RedHeadedGirl already gave it an A, but I know so many of you want to discuss the book, so let's read and discuss, shall we?

Here's the summary: Smite Turner is renowned for his single-minded devotion to his duty as a magistrate. But behind his relentless focus lies not only a determination to do what is right, but the haunting secrets of his past—secrets that he is determined to hide, even if it means keeping everyone else at arm’s length. Until the day an irresistible woman shows up as a witness in his courtroom…

Miranda Darling isn’t in trouble…yet. But she’s close enough that when Turner threatens her with imprisonment if she puts one foot wrong, she knows she should run in the other direction. And yet no matter how forbidding the man seems on the outside, she can’t bring herself to leave. Instead, when he tries to push her away, she pushes right back—straight through his famous self-control, and into the heart of the passion that he has long hidden away…

As usual, if you use SBTBARE at checkout, you will get a 50% eBook Bucks Rebate at AllRomance.com, the official sponsor of the Sizzling Book Club. The 50% rebate at AllRomance will be valid from January 1-15, 2011. The after rebate price is $2.00 – spiffy! You can also buy a paperback copy at Amazon, or wherever you like to go book shopping.

Milan has self-published this novel, and it's available digitally and in print. I'm going to be giving away 3 digital and 3 paper copies of the book – just leave a comment specifying which one you'd like, and suggest a name for Milan's next Un-book!

Standard disclaimers apply: I am not being compensated for this giveaway. Void where prohibited. Wear a hat or your ears will be cold. Must be over 18 and wearing a balaclava to win. Comments will close in 24 hours.

  2. YES!!! Loved this one!

  3. Suz Glo says:

I have been on the fence about this book. I loved the first in the trilogy and DNF’d the second. And the reviews for this 3rd book have run the gamut from “love!” to “bleh”. But for only $2 at AllRomance I may just go for it. Thanks for the chance to win it, too!

    How about “Undeniable”?

  4. shiny says:

ooh, fun I really liked the second one, and keep meaning to go back and buy the first.
    Paper is always delightful.
Unkempt maybe? or Unruffled. Unstrung? or just Undone.
That’s what I’ve got for now. Happy new year!

A digital copy would be great. How about Unwanted, Unknown, Unforgettable?

    ohh I loved the Untouchable!

    Unworthy, Uninterested,

  7. Donna says:

I am Understandably excited at the thought of winning (kill a tree for me, please; at least it’s an honorable death). In the Unlikely event I actually win the book, the most Unacceptable of happy dances shall be performed in front of the giant plate glass window abutting my desk for the edification of the Unsuspecting worker bees in the office building next door.  My joy would be Unassailable.

  8. Julie says:

I’d love to have a paper copy. I rather like Untouched, as a title…it’s so suggestive!

  9. Alyssa Cole says:

I’d love a paper copy (so it could be placed on my bookshelf next to the first two and so I could have something to press into my friends’ hands when I insist they must read it).

As far as the title goes, the first thing that popped into my head was Unleavened. It could be an intercultural romance! Or…Unstable? A torrid affair between Richard and a young woman disguised as a groomsman.

  10. Kaetrin Allen says:

Yay!  I’ll be able to join this one too!  thx Sarah. 🙂

  11. Angela Korra'ti says:

I’m in like Flynn on this, though I’ll have to show up late since this’ll fall right in my West Coast commute time! I’ve got book 2 queued up on my Nook as a library checkout so hopefully I’ll be able to catch up by the end of the month. 😀

  12. Emily says:

Paper book! Unknotted or Unread. (My first thought was Undefenestrated but that, frankly, is ridiculous.)

  13. I’d love either a digital or paper copy. Thanks for the giveaway!
