Last weekend I was at a booksigning at Turn the Page Books in Boonsboro, MD, along with Mary Kay McComas, Mary Burton, Donna Kauffman, and Nora Roberts/JD Robb. Each author was kind enough to sign a book for me to give away here, so hooray! Signed books from a collection of subgenres!
Up for grabs, and each of these copies is a signed copy – signed by the author of the book, not by me or some random person, unless Nora Roberts was played by a lookalike:

Julia Quinn. There’s just something about What Happens in London that has stuck with me since I read it, and it’s just sort of been my platonic ideal of a regency romance novel ever since.

First up is Judy Cuevas (Judith Ivory). I really enjoy her books and wish she was still writing. Love to meet Nora Roberts, too, since I have a boatload of her books on my shelves, all unsigned.
Nora Roberts, Jennifer Crusie, and J.K. Rowling. The first book series that I ever loved was Harry Potter and the second was the In Death series. If it wasn’t for those two authors I probably wouldn’t be the reader that I am today. (Until I read Harry Potter, I thought all books were stupid and boring. None of the things I ever had to read for school held my attention, so Harry Potter taught me that reading is only as boring as you make it—although Moby Dick tried it’s hardest to make me forget this.) As for Jennifer Crusie, I would love to meet her because her heroines are always wonderful and I have always wondered if she is as cool as they are.
(As for my socks, they are a deep purple pair that I got from Bath and Body Works just before Christmas. They are so soft and warm. Oh, and I’m not afraid of zombies; zombies are afraid of me. :p )
Kresley Cole- she seems like a person I’d like in real life! Agree with Elizabeth above too, J.K. Rowling. She came to my small town bookstore in CA after her first book was released, before she was famous, and so half the town has signed copies! Totally regret not going to see her then!!!

Oh, gosh. Because my all time fav romance is Morning Glory, I’d say LaVyrle Spencer. I came to reading her work only a few years ago, but that book has become my number one keeper.
Nora and would love to go to her bookstore. I have met several people who have gone for book signings and it sounded super. Living out in the wild, wild west, it will be awhile before I get there.
I would love to meet Lisa Kleypas and Pamela Clare. It would be interesting to speak with Pamela about her career as an investigative journalist.
I would really love to meet Julia Quinn and Lisa Kleypas. They both seem like they would be incredibly interesting to speak to and were the two authors that began my addiction to/trawling of the internet to desperately find new historical romances.
Nora Roberts, for sure! I’m on a personal mission to read all her books – currently nearly three-quarters of the way there. It’s getting harder and harder to get my hands on the rest …
I’d also love to meet Tamora Pierce. Her books were fantastically influential for me when I was growing up (they still are) both in terms of female empowerment as well as introducing me to the fantasy genre.
I would absolutely love to meet Ilona Andrews, it was thanks to her books that I found Nalini Singh and from there really the Romance genre as a whole.
I would also love to meet Jill Myles and Victoria Dahl.
And one day I will. I have this grand plan and a list of authors I want to meet and one day I’m going to get on a plane to America and go meet them all and get them all to sign a book so I can have them all in one place to remember what will undoubtedly be an amazing experience.
I just need to save up the money to do it.
My first choice is Jane Austen, just because she’s Jane Austen. But after her, golly, the list is looooong. Harlan Coben. Kristan Hannah. Jill Mansell. Jennifer Weiner. I could go on and on …

I’d love to get Jeaniene Frost or Christina Dodd to sign my books. And I know she’s not always popular on this site, but I have the whole Black Dagger Brotherhood series, and really enjoyed it, so getting J.R. Ward to sign them would be amazing.
The romance authors I would love to meet and have sign my books are Nora Roberts and Jennifer Crusie. Both have given me hours and hours of enjoyment and I would like to thank them in person.

I’ve been fortunate to meet so many of my favorite romance authors but outside of the romance genre, not so much.

Jennifer Crusie. Mostly because I would do everything in my power to convince her to become my BFF and send me hilarious emails every day.
The terrible thing is, whenever I meet any of my dream authors, I always end up gasping like a fish and stumbling over my words…and I do this despite being an author myself! Ohhh, the moments of humiliation…
So based on embarrassing past experience, I’m nervous about meeting any more of my dream authors…but I would love to get a book signed by Nora Roberts! I admire her SO much.

Of the authors from whom you have books, Nora Roberts. Because I am blown away by the work ethic and good writing and “In Death” series.
Of the authors in the world, still living, Lois McMaster Bujold, Terry Pratchett, and Carol O’Connell are the ones that come immediately to mind. I actually get pretty excited about signed books. I found a book signed by James Baldwin at a UBS once and almost swooned. Swoonier still, in a batch of thoroughly smoked books donated to my library, I found a signed edition of Yeats’s poetry.
Loretta Chase, because I just adore her books and would love to ask her some questions. Also Anne Bishop, I would tell her that after checking the first book in her Black Jewels series out of the library, I read it in almost one sitting and then immediately plotted a bookstore run the next day to buy the original trilogy. Because there was no way I was getting caught without book 3 at the end of book 2, and I knew I would want to reread 1 as well.
I would love to meet Nalini Singh, Ilona Andrews, and Jennifer Estep, just to be able to gush and ask questions regarding their stories.
So. Many. Authors I want to meet! But I think number one would have to be Nora. Mostly because Eve Dallas is pretty much my hero.
i would love to meet Julie James because I love her characters – they could be my friends, too! And would also love to meet Loretta Chase because the woman can craft a story!
Today’s socks are not so warm as it’s to be 60+ degrees here in Nashville, TN today, but last evening’s socks were brightly striped and fuzzy, so I think those will count.

Robin McKinley. I so desperately want to meet Robin McKinley. Which isn’t going to happen, as she rarely does booksignings, and then only in England. *sigh*
I would also really love to meet JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, Jane Austen, and William Shakespeare, but that’s even more unlikely…
Nora Roberts, Nalini Singh, Meljean Brook and Terry Pratchett, each of whom introduced me to a a whole new world of books ….. I would have included Ann McCaffrey, but that will have to wait till I reach the great bookstore in the sky.

I would love to meet Jennifer Crusie. I picked up one of her books by chance, and have been an avid reader of romance ever since. I would also love to meet Keri Arthur (which is possible as we live in the same city). One of the things I really enjoy about her books set in Melbourne is that even though they are fantasies, I still recognise the city & it’s moods
Nora Roberts and Jennifer Crusie top my list. They’re my go-to authors when I’m looking for an entertaining read.

First, I would love to meet William Goldman, because “The Princess Bride” is my favorite book of all time and I would love to meet him face to face.
Other authors I’m dying to meet are J.K. Rowling (duh!), Jasper Fforde, Julia Quinn, Eloisa James and Lauren Willig. I’m attempting to get to one of that Salons in NYC so maybe that’ll happen one day!
