I must further add the rest of "The House of Comarre" trilogy by Kristen Painter. I've nearly finished the first book and the next two are on the nightstand.

"Ecstasy Wears Emeralds" by Renee Bernard
"The Shadow and the Star" by Laura Kinsale
"Bet Me" by Jennifer Crusie
"A Hint of Wicked" by Jennifer Haymore
"Darn Good Cowboy Christmas" by Carolyn Brown (because I wanted something in keeping with the season, and I picked up another of her books -- still want "Red's Hot Cowboy".

FYI, yes, I am a former (as in very recently) non-romance reader. I found them all insipid and annoying at best. And then I read "Lord of Scoundrels", per your recommendations. Consider me converted. Now I use this site and RT Book Reviews to help me avoid crappy books and find the good ones. : )

It's Monkeewrench by P.J. Tracy. Not a romance but romance does occur and the path to love is started.

Posted by Vicki on 2011-12-11 20:39:59 Loved Dangerous books - I just wish it had been longer, and made a better case for why romances are still considered dangerous today. I don't believe that a 200-year-old opinion would still carry so much weight in the modern world.
