Name that Lonely Heart!

by SB Sarah | June 24, 2005 | Friday at 7:33 pm | 11 Comments

It’s Friday - give us the title, author, and name of the heroine, and win your very own Smart Bitch Title!

Proper Maiden Seeks Perfect Man

Frustratingly perfect heroine, quiet, demure, and circumspect, seeks dashing man to help me spend a summer masquerading my way into independent spinster status so as to avoid endless parade of suitors - and help me overcome deep-seated feelings of rejection due to being left dramatically at the alter in front of my entire well-meaning but meddlesome family. Men of rakish infamy more than welcome -  especially if I can help heal your personal demons whilst your charm helps me overcome painful past, evaluate my life and perhaps embark on a more adventurous, and certainly fun future.

Damn, lady! Doesn’t that describe about 95% of all romances set in the Regency period that have been published in the past 10 years??

I was trying to make it difficult! Must Stump the Readers! Hmm. Shall edit to make it more obvious!

    Oh, look, another historical…grrr.

My guess:  everything ever written by Johanna Lindsey, Jude Devereux and Mary Jo Putney.

I haven’t read this book, but…is it A SUMMER TO REMEMBER by Mary Balogh?

Oh, oh, oh, and the heroine’s name is Lauren. Duh, forgot that part.

Dang, this one I actually knew!! Lauren Edgeworth from Mary Balogh’s A Summer to Remember.

Next time I need to be quicker on the draw. It’s so rare that I actually know the answer to these.

Emma - you know the heroine’s name and the title but haven’t even read the book?  What the hell?  Do you have special powers or something?  I can’t remember the titles to the crap I do read.

HelenKay, I read all of TWO pages of this book and put it down (didn’t throw it; it was a library book, heh) with such horror that it’s stuck in my mind forever as the first Balogh book I couldn’t bring myself to read…

Congrats! HelenKay, I totally agree with you, I often forget all pertinent information after reading. Thank god the week I won I remembered who the author was, then went to her site and did a little creative searching to find the title and heroine’s name. If I had to come up with that crap off the top of my head? I would have never received a title.

    Signed,
    The proud Countess Slutskyev
