USA Today’s Deirdre Donahue did a Q&A with me about EIKAL that allowed me ample opportunity to address and hopefully correct some of the misconceptions about the romance genre, including facts about the books themselves and the women who read and write them. YAY!

The article is online and in the print edition today, too.

I think with their new romance blog headed up by author Joyce Lamb, there will be an increase in romance-positive articles - which is awesome because 1.8 million copies is nothing to sneeze at. I am so excited that they printed an article focused on how positive and powerful romance can be.

Thank goodness my dude adviced to try to get the mortgage loans at banks. So, I did that and was satisfied with my commercial loan.

Just wait, THERE ARE SO MANY ROMANCE COMMUNITIES online with reviews - it's awesome. @Merrian: The romance=porn argument is so exhausting, isn't it? I am keeping with my established rule of sanity (i.e. Never Read the Comments on Any News Site, Ever) but it's tempting to try to argue. Even though I know there won't be any listening!

(I take the train). So yeah, I sat there, read it, read it, and totally agreed with you. My teachers in highschool and even my boyfriend calls it my porno books. But whatever, it never stopped me. Thanks to the magazine, I found your website!!! (and your article)
Posted by Maria on 2011-10-14 02:06:11 Just read the article and the comments which of course ignore what you said and focus on the romance = female porn worldview. I must say that based on these comments I am beginning think that the 'female porn' description arises because men want to justify their own relationship with porn. If there is 'female porn = romance' then it appears that there can be no critique of male engagement with porn allowed. I am also taken by the pushback against women being allowed to fantasise also implied the comments about science fiction is fantasy [being male fantasy] and therefore romance = female fantasy and so can be dismissed.
