Like Crack, Only Prettier

OK, I’m not going to sound very coherent because HOLY SHIT I’ve only had, hmmmm, four hours of sleep in the last *tries to do math* uhhhhhhh 44 hours, which is what happens when a whole buncha your friends come out and say “Hello, Candy, come spend some time with us, and while you’re with us, we’ll ply you with gummy bears and Linux and pho!” (mmmmmm pho) but anyway, tonight I finally got around to watching Samurai Champloo and OHMIGOD that shit is CRACK in animated form. My friend Brian burned me copies of the first two DVDs so I could check it out and ahhhhhh there are six DVDs out now with the seventh due in JANUARY and good God how am I going to make it that long??? And there are THIRTEEN DVDs in total! *weeps hysterically*
So, I guess deepdiscountdvd.com is going to make a mint off me. Again. And I thought Cowboy Bebop had hit me hard…. Damn that Shinichiro Watanabe! Damn him to helllll!
Who knew an animated hip-hop samurai saga would hook me this hard? Certainly not me.
Off I go to surrender my credit card number. Then ‘tis off to bed with me. We’ll see how much of this non-animated, non-hip hop samurai saga I can read before I pass out in exhaustion.

Squee! I am muchly in agreement over the amazingliness of Samurai Champloo. (For Kate R: It’s an animated series.)
My husband uses bittorrent to download tons of fansubs, so our currrent addictions include Bleach, Mushishi, and Full Metal Panic.
We do still spend too much money on anime, since we buy things we like when they bcome commercially available. As the bumper sticker says - “Anime: Crack Would Be Cheaper.”
I am always glad to see other addicts. ^_^

Ah…poor Candy. Anime is one of the reasons we’re finally getting Netflix. Samurai Champloo will be one of the first we get. And the Cowboy Bebop movie. We still havent seen that. The library has that one, though, if we get desperate before the end of the year.

Oh…we had a Linux thing here a few days ago when dear Nick found out it supported um um….SATA finally. Yeah, that. So now he can play on his computer and not mine when he wants to dink around with Red Hat.

I just started watching Samarai Champloo a few weeks ago and I love it, but my primary anime (and manga too) addiction is Fullmetal Alchemist.

The link between romance readers and anime…a scary thing.
We added a Yaoi/Shounen-ai line recently to combine the two. We found an amazing artist to do the cover art. It’s pretty wicked.
