Kindle Makes Sarah Eggs

All I’m saying is, for this much money, the Kindle better harness nuclear energy to make eggs, do laundry, and drive me to work every day. Holy shit. $6,232.00 for an EBOOK?! And that’s 20% off!
I mean, I get nervous wearing nice jewelry sometimes on the subway. Imagine having a SIX THOUSAND DOLLAR ebook on the Kindle?! I’d be afraid to touch the damn thing.

*blinketyblinks*
*looks at Amazon link, then at urban fantasy ebook she has just sold, for which she will be lucky to make six hundred dollars, never mind six THOUSAND for ONE COPY*
Damn. Clearly I’m writing in the wrong genre!

Go read the reviews. They’re a hoot. Better yet are the tags, which include “goofy”, “wacky”, “satire”, and “wtf”. LOL!

well…. you do save $1,558.00 by having a Kindle….. LMAO!
More Kindle:
Has anyone seen the reviews up on Amazon that are reflecting the price of the Kindle edition rather then reviewing the actual book? I finished the latest J.D. Robb In Death book and wanted to know for sure when in February the next one was coming and there were a bunch of 1 star reviews on Salvation In Death and I thought ... WTF?
They were about the price for the Kindle edition, not the writing. I hope this isn’t going to be a new wave of one star reviews on the ebook prices rather then the books. That’s not really the place to bitch about the prices but at least the ones that were there were taken off.

Text books are always expensive, because the market for them is so small.
That said, holy fuck.

Is it a typo?
Love the reviews (all within the last 72hrs). My fave:

OMG! The Christmas gift review…I am still laughing hysterically over that one!! I think the most my DD1 has spent is a couple hundred bucks, as she puts it. Can’t wait to find out what her reaction is to this one!
Then again, she’s only going into medicine, holding people’s lives in her hands, not trying to build a better microwave….

All I can say is, if anyone does buy this one, please, oh please I am begging you, click on our commission link. I’ll, like, give away a car or something with the percentage commission. Holy shit.

My favorite part, besides the Christmas gift reveiw is seeing the “Customers Who Bought Items Like This Also Bought” section. Nuclear power and Stephen King books go great together.

They’ll probably come down—but I started wondering exactly where it would be more effective to complain about the price of ebooks—which is a sore point with me at times when publishers try to get the same price from an eBook as a dead tree book.
I doubt if a one star review by a protester is going to affect Ms Roberts’ sales though.
Joanne said on 11.10.08 at 09:27 PM • [link]
Oh, that wasn’t my point at all, I’m fairly positive that Ms Roberts can take care of herself and her sales.
I buy ebooks too and I also have a problem with the prices being the same as a hard copy, but that’s not what I was saying with my post. The point was that there have been such misuses of the Amazon reviews (and reviewers) already that one more is just another ‘something’ to take note of.

I wonder if you add in the uranium from amazon, if you can get combined shipping rates?

Sarah, where do we click on the Smart Bitches commission link? (Sorry, I am not buying this book so no new car!) However I do buy romance novels pretty regularly on Amazon and would be happy to send commission your way if I can, as I love this site and get great recommendations from you and your bitches. I mainly use the UK site (amazon.co.uk).
