First, if you're near Naperville, IL – and hold up a minute. Naperville, by virtue of being outside Chicago, is kind of near EVERYTHING.
It's right in the middle of North America, almost sort of!

Unfortunately for me, the Upper East Side of Manhattan isn't really close to everything. There's ocean on one side and the rest of the US on the other, accessible by two tunnels and two bridges, plus some ferrys:

OH HAI PORTUGAL! Hi Ireland! Hola, Canarias! So Portugal, Ireland, and the Canary Islands, plus a bit of Morocco and Western Sahara – you're close enough. Come on over! It's just an ocean, come on.
If you'd like to meet Julie James (she's very awesome and has fabulous shoes – I'm already worried which shoes I should wear, you guys) come on over! The 86th and Lex BN has a terrific staff and a wonderful event space on the lover level. If I recall correctly, it's enclosed, too, so we can get as bawdy as we want. Heh. The description says “no-holds-barred” but I don't think we'd planned on any wrestling.
So if you're Naperville (which is everyone, pretty much) or near the Upper East Side (HI PORTUGAL!) I hope you'll join either me or Jane for one of these two events.
Oh! I love Julie James – Just the Sexiest Man Alive was one of the first romance books I read and she got me hooked! BUT I’m in Australia, so I’m too far away to attend :/
Your “OH HAI PORTUGAL!” made me LOL – I’m of Portuguese descent and I used to trace the line from NY to Lisbon when I was a kid all the time. (Yeah, I didn’t get out much.)
Meanwhile, there’s a Shake Shack on one side of the BN and an H&M on the other, so maybe it’s worth the trek from Joisey. 🙂

Alas:
1) did not see this post until Wednesday; and
2) said plot moppets would have kept me at home in any event
But next time maybe I’ll be there. Le Chocolat is awesome. They even have dark chocolate vitamins there. sigh
