Romances help us with so many Important Life Lessons, including Avoid The Mall at Christmastime.
Colleen writes looking for the book with just that message.
I read this book a few years ago at a rented condo.
It was part of a series and the hero was a SEAL or definitely an army man and the
heroine was a book clerk in a mall. It took place around Christmas (maybe
Christmas eve) and the hero was going to propose, but girlfriend didn’t
think they were serious. She had kind of a bitch mom (maybe a doctor).
The mall closes and heroine is alone in the mall when BAM! it’s being
robbed! By a group of guys who have (spoiler!) ties to the hero’s father’s
death 20/whatever years ago. The father was in the army and accused of
stealing, but died while it was occurring. It was complicated and this is all
revealed in a cinema.
Heroine and hero dick around the mall, jacking things from stores (walkie
talkies, jump ropes) and discover a pregnant lady is there! And goes into
labor (of course).
Hero’s swat team/ Navy Seal team/ fancy alpha male attack squad discover
that they’re in the mall and plan how to get in and help.
One sercurity guard is in on it and another is shot by the robbers. They
hide him in pillows…or behind a mattress.
It’s part of a series that follows all of the brothers.
See what I mean? Going to the mall before the holidays is totally an exercise to place yourself in mortal peril. Anyone remember this book?
