Friday Videos: Game time!

by SB Sarah | March 28, 2008 | Friday at 2:23 pm | 14 Comments

Have I mentioned that I love Japan? I am fascinated with all things Japanese, probably because I have a Japanese middle name and had to explain it often enough that I got curious about all things Japanese, and how funky fresh and different Japan is from the USA.

So I say this with love and respect: some Japanese video games are WEIRD. WEIRD in a way that is AWESOME. SO Awesome that if I could buy this game for Candy, I so would, because I know nothing would make her Bitch panties twist with glee like the opportunity to wipe the sweat putules off of lean, androgynous Japanese cartoon dudes.

Thanks to Star Opal for the link.

Heh. There is something deeply, seriously wrong with certain aspects of Japanese culture, and I totally <3 it. :-D

So, what’s the point of the game? Does he whip out his samurai sword and cut you if you don’t keep him dry and minty fresh?

Spaminator word: Needed25. Needed 25 minutes to stop laughing!

Well, I think the game is, you’re a girl who has a crush on one of these guys (who’re all in the karate or kickboxing club) at your highschool. And, apparently, you walk around asking them such creepy things as “Do you mind if I wipe the sweat off you?” “Would you like a backrub?”

The friend who sent me the posted link, sent me A LOT (we go through the trouble of finding crazy stuff to send each other, it’s what we do). But this one has the nipples comment and made me laugh hysterically. But the others are just as insane:

This is the massaging minigame. I can’t decide if the soundeffects or the handprint are better!

This is the trailer for the game.

    (Now hopefully the links work)

Fascinating. Although my first thought is how short-lived the user interface must be. First thousand players would have a groove rubbed through that screen in no time.

Why does he look so impassive? Is that part of the unrequited crush plot?

The massage game is so much better than the sweat-rubbing game! Listen to the sounds he makes!

I guess Japanese schoolgirls don’t have crushes on girls since there don’t seem to be any girls to rub.

Victoria> I agree, if a half naked guy looks that bored, than something’s wrong. My guess is sister isn’t doing something right. Or it could be part of the plot, or even the character if he’s Distant Guy.

Kimberly> They (the Japanese) have girl/girl “dating sims” also. They’ve got boy/boy, boy(player)/girl, and in this case girl/boy. And that’s just the basics, there’s quite a few subgenres, heat levels, and kinks. Except for the creepy factor, I kind of like the variety having grown up in a gaming world that focuses so much on “breast physics.”

I’ve never played one myself, but if I were given the opportunity to do so without having to spend money, I would out of curiousity.

I’m almost (but not quite) embarrassed to admit I’m getting this game in the next few days.

Yeah, the point is to support one of these fighters - and of course, to make them fall in love with you ^_^ Oh, and if you do the massage or wiping well, the guy gets a happy expression (he also gets kind of flushed >:D )

I love romance games!  Who says video games can’t be, uh…innovative!

And it’s quite funny, in a cast interview, one of the actors recommended that you not play this game on mass transit lol.  Even if you used headphones, imagine sitting next to someone who could see the screen…

That looks like the plague. Seriously. It looks like they are trying to rub off his boils after he recieved a tick bite from a critter with Tuleremia.

    Ugh. Ick.

From what I can understand we’re supposed to help nurse them so they can fight with massage and ice packs and stuff. You can see the game trailers (in Japanese) at http://www.gametrailers.com/player/29604.html There’s four different ones with a commercial in between. I think it’s supposed to be aimed at young girls, but Japan has such an accepting attitude towards homosexuals that it’s win/win for them.

    You call that weird? This—

—now this is weird. In fact, as I just wrote to the person who posted it elsewhere, this has weird in the rear-view mirror, has gone straight past surreal, and is currently travelling in the Land of Batshit.

I see they’ve got all the prerequiste bishounen, including megane (glasses character for those who need translation) and the moe (that would be the jailbait character that always leaves us Westerners feeling mildly dirty). My yaoi-fried brain is coming up with all sorts of possibilities regarding those “sweat” drops. Yes, down and dirty fun with the bishies, for hours and hours…just gotta keep the battery charged….

(keep82? Yes, the stats on my reverse harem…)

I saw this today and thought of that video. It’s so bizarre, I’m thinking of getting one and doing some t-shirt surgery to make it more femme.

Am I the only one that finds the heads on a different screen kinda yuck?

Gawd.  Why can’t we get perv games like that *here*?  If my Japanese were better…
