Friday Videos Still Like Calling You. Maybe.
by SB Sarah | by SB Sarah | November 23, 2012 | Friday at 1:34 am | 22 CommentsFrom Amanda comes this video showing the Miami Dolphins cheerleaders' Call Me Maybe video on the right... and the copycat response sent back to the Dolphins cheerleaders by US troops in Afghanistan. Look, there's something for everyone in this video, k?
Link!
I love how the soldiers echoed the choreography perfectly: shoulder rolls, hairflips, and mops.
I hope that your weekend is filled with family home with you, and possibly also dancing in a warm tub of water.

It was the scarf around the hips that made me crack up.

I find it one of the hottest thing in a man when he can have fun without worrying about homophobic comments from others.

I’m so glad the soldiers kept the artistic integrity of the original with that gratuitous butt shot.
No, really—very, very glad!

Showed this to my son, who, until last month, was a corpsman with the Marines. His first reaction - “They have a pool? Where the f*** did they get a pool? Oh, they’re Army.”
(He also thought it was funny, even if they are Army. ;) )

Makes me want to thank them for their service, if you know what I mean. And I think you do.

My family joined several Army families for Thanksgiving. I pulled the video up for all to watch. The two Army soldiers who have deployed noted that when they are busy, they are busy. But when they are not, it becomes monotonous. So this video is a good way to break the monotomy, have fun, and stay connected to home.
Squadrons from all three service academies have made parodies of GANGNAM STYLE in advance of football games against the other academies. My son observed that the military are the best at keeping sync with the songs ... and each other.

Pretty awesome, but I still think THIS is the definitive version of Call Me Maybe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…

My reaction was exactly like Kate4Queen’s. Those guys really STUDIED that video—hot chicks, hot climate, boredom—it was bound to happen. Glad that those guys (really, really cute guys—hummmm) had something nice from home to look at.

As an Army vet (5 years and a tour in Afghanistan), I totally get this. In the military, there is no concept of personal space, so this was nothing for these guys. Also, when we have fun, WE HAVE FUN. Nothing more entertaining (and sometimes dumb-‘n-dangerous) than a group of bored soldiers out in FOB Boondocks, Afghanistan, trying to entertain themselves. For those of you who haven’t seen the “Steel Ding Dong” song by the HHC 1-21 Mortars, pull it up on YouTube. You will be glad you did.
