These people deserved their Google-bombs. Trust us.
This is a long one - 12 minutes. But so worth it. Oh, my God so worth it.

My heart-strings, they are all aflutter.
I really needed a pick-me-up this morning. Thank you.

For some reason, like last week, the links are not there for me. Just big blank spots. I have no idea why- no one has done anything with the computer.

That is quite adorable. Almost like a silent film (except for the bit with the talking).
Incidentally, you tagged it England; but those accents sounded Australian, or maybe NZ, to me.

OMG, that was the most romantic film I’ve seen this year! Love it!

Oh, that brought tears to my eyes and a smile to my face. That’s lovely.
earthgirl said on 03.13.09 at 04:42 PM • [link]
It was filmed in Melbourne—definitely Australian. (Just makes the guy cuter!)
Chani said on 03.13.09 at 04:47 PM • [link]
That was very sweet!
BTW, reading the credits at the end, it was made in Melbourne, Australia.

It was very sweet but I kept waiting for them to be hit by a bus at the end. What’s that say about the way my mind works? LOL

Lovely film - very cute and sweet.
It’s quite odd, but just the first few frames - especially once he was on the train (even before there was any speech) and I knew it was Melbourne, Australia. It’s one of the best places I’ve ever lived (been in the USA for 8 years now). Weird how things that are familiar you recognize from cues you can’t even consciously describe.

I. Loved. That. Just loved it.

Awwwwwwww look! Romance isn’t dead! :)
I too, at the end, thought, “Oh don’t even think about having one of them hit by a bus!”
I think it’s because in the culture these days, romance = dead. Like you can’t be happily ever or that the true sign of “love” is death. Gah. I like my happy endings happy and with lots and lots of fluff.
Jessa Slade said on 03.13.09 at 07:04 PM • [link]
Once again, the power of the written word prevails!
(And, yes, I thought of the bus too. Somebody needs to reset that love = death meme.)

Wow—I loved that. A complete love story, no words necessary—thanks! You’re right—totally worth it!

JewelTones: I thought that too! No hitting the nice people with the buses!! Loved that we never get to hear their voices. Makes them more universal and doesn’t spoil the magic.

My cat sat and watched that with me for the whole 12 minutes. I had to share that. I think he liked the music.

I loved this! A perfect tribute to love and the written word. I totally watched it twice!
StarOpal said on 03.13.09 at 10:32 PM • [link]
I blame Meet Joe Black for the “getting hit by bus” thing. That and, even in love, you shouldn’t stand in the middle of a busy street.

I, for one, did not think of a bus. :) Was just swooning with the adorableness.
@janicu My 20 month old watched it with me. :D

Utterly charming. Thank you. I sent the link to my theater-kid son as a terrific example of miniscule budget movie-making, and to my writer-kid daughter as a a fine bit of storytelling with no dialogue.

What a great, well spent 12 minutes. I thought it was great how they did it all with so few lines.

There are no words to describe how much I loved that.
And yes… My mind instantly jumped to “OH NO watch out for that bus!” How depressing is that.

Loved it. Can’t wipe the smile off my face now.
I thought of the bus too. But to be fair, I think most people expect the ‘comedy’ twist rather than the sweet and fluffy ending we got. So we were waiting for that ‘Gotcha!’ moment.

I was so afraid she was going to get hit by a car or something at the end. :(

I spent the entirety of Amelie waiting for someone to get hit by a bus. Good to see I’m not alone in being unable to turn my inner cynic off!

I can’t believe I didn’t watch this until today. I love it.
