Friday Videos Love Otters

by SB Sarah | July 09, 2010 | Friday at 1:58 pm | 20 Comments

Otters are easily one of my very favorite animals. A long, long time ago, I had a personal journal at the now-defunct diary-x with a otter theme. LOVE otters. So Gry’s video? I watched it SIX TIMES.

Hope you have a swimmingly awesome weekend! And that no one carries you around by the scruff of your neck!

OMG, that’s one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen. I love how the pup tried to climb out at first, all HELL NO!

    Thanks for sharing.

So cute!  I guess I had figured that swimming came as naturally to otters as crawling to babies - I hadn’t realized that they had to pretty much be dragged kicking and screaming into the water.  Poor baby! And mommy kept making him go under the horrible, horrible water.

So adorable! My heart melted a little bit, I think. I am definitely showing that to the kids next time I need a distraction. (Btw - someone should submit that to Cute Overload, if it hasn’t been there already.)

Off topic - can I say how bummed I am that I missed the awesome Loretta Chase giveaway? Thanks, broken laptop!

Thirdly - I now have the “what would you do for a Klondike” song stuck in my head. Groan.

    Have a great Friday everyone!

OMG SO CUTE!  I never realized that otters had to be taught to swim.  I agree with Laura (in PA)—it was adorable seeing the pup trying to climb out.  Poor kid!  Mom kept grabbing his ankle and tugging him back in.

Awesome video! I had no idea that they had to be taught.

    Ohhhhh, that is adorable!
In otter speak, mum’s saying “this is for your own good” and the pup just wants to go back to bed.

Yeah, that’s about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.

“You HAVE to learn to swim.”
“But I’m all WET.  It’s GROSS.”

    (captcha she49).  Well, they’re off by 3 years…

My 10 yr old son just watched this with me and his favorite part was when she drags the baby back in by its leg.  He laughed his tush off.
