Stone cold awesomesauce. Best LIS-school recruitment video ever! Makes me nostalgic for the good old days of library school. My favorite part was the sexy demonstration of compact shelving.

What can I say? Librarians—we’re just cool like that.

I am so broke that it isn’t even a little bit funny and I would still pay cash money to see the Librarian vs Soldier Gagapalooza.

“Antelopes courtesy of…” just might be the most awesome credit in the history of visual media. Fantastic.
I work in information and record management and envy my LIS colleagues every day. I could never be so cool.

Love the video! I have the brown tee one of them is wearing. It’s a great tee from shirt.woot.com. Unfortunately, it’s no longer available.

Twelve. Different. Kinds. of Awesome. Even if I didn’t already wish to be a librarian, that would have made me long for an MLIS of my very own. Fabulous.

And now my coworker’s hubby brought us ice cream. Fridays aren’t so bad after all… Hope everyone else’s is going this good.

Yep, definitely totally AWESOME! They are having too much fun! Makes me wish I’d done that library science program I considered, instead of the computer science one. Thanks for sharing with us.

That is so excellent. Makes me wish that I was a librarian.

And I even have the Nancy Pearl action figure to go along with the video. Librarians are my heroes.

I saw this in the UW newspaper today and I am soo excited that you posted it! It makes me wish I was studying to be a librarian.

Ha! I hope I’m that cool when I become a librarian. Also, I’m surprised no one else has mentioned it but the beginning text is a Doctor Who reference. Awesome and geeky, how much better can you get?

I sent this link to my son who is entering library school this fall. He should be so lucky.

Very impressive, Indeed ... so many 2010 graduates - however, quite unfortunate that a 1992 MLS graduate, with over 12 years experience, remains unemployed. Yes ... everyone loves a librarian, but no one wishes to support the libraries to employ them! Sorry for the bad news folks, but I just had to give a dose of - “reality check”.

Yeah! Go UW! Sorry had to give a shout out to my peeps. Makes me want to to to the reading room and learn something. I better sit down until that passes.

Go Huskies!!!
Hey, L’ Te, I feel for ya—but I’ve largely stopped using libraries since they have turned into community centers rather than the quiet, sacred places they once were.
I’ll go back when the movies are taken out, the interesting books are taken out of the stacks and put back into general circulation, and, most importantly, when librarians start shushing again.
Totally elitist, I know, but it’s pretty clear that lowering standards so as not to intimidate the illiterate hasn’t worked. At all. In any area of life.
