What’s funnier is that this cat must do this all the time or they wouldn’t have been able to get such a good video! Thanks for sharing :)

sorry to be the dissenting voice of not finding that amusing but that is one seriously pissed off and itchy cat, he almost attacked the hand that teased and I kind of wish he had. If its not allergic to fleas I would be absolutely stunned.

It seems like the Friday videos never get as many comments as your other entries but I just wanted to let you know that I look forward to seeing what you find every week. The Old Spice commercials were the best thing I’d seen in a long time! Thanks for starting my morning off happily.

I’ve had two cats that did this type of thing when you scratched in front of their tail and neither had a fleas or a flea allergy (yes, I’ve had a cat with a flea allergy and would recognize it). They just really liked it. Mine did look a bit more obviously appreciative, and in the case of one orgasmic, than this cat did, but I still think it liked it more than you might think. It did get a lot more pissed looking when they stopped scratching.
I had one cat that made this a part of it’s nightly routine. It would lay on my stomach every night while I was reading in bed and I’d scratch it’s back while it gnawed on the spine of my book. She’d rub all over me and wouldn’t leave me alone until she got her nightly molesting, as we began to call it.
My sister has a cat that does the same thing but with less biting and more rocking. She puts sunglasses on it and tells everyone that it’s doing a Stevie Wonder impression. These folks thought it looked more like Trololo. Different strokes…

Some cats and dogs have this, I don’t know, neurological crosswire or something and will do this automatic “flea-biting” behavior when a person scratches in a certain spot, usually at the tail. A friend had a cat like this when I was growing up, and my current dog will flea-bite my arm or the furniture if I scratch the base of his tail.

You made me miss my kitty! Stupid college rules . . .

OMG, that was HILARIOUS!
Our dog used to do that. If we scratched her in the right spot she’d do the flea chew AND thump her paw just like Thumper. She loved it. Both our cats had variations on the theme. My cat would even bite me if I STOPPED! lol

As the submitter of the Trololo (because it made me laugh more every time I saw it) and a cat lover as well as a dog trainer who relies a lot on an ability to “read” dog and animals in general, this cat was not in pain. And yeah, he was annoyed….every time his owner stopped. It’s not like the cat was tied to the owner’s leg; he was splatted out there for his skritches and Lord Forfend the guy stop before he was darn good and ready! If he didn’t like it he could have left at any moment.
The dirty look the cat gives the owner at the very end is just priceless.

::sigh:: My previous cat (that died of cancer) would do this. If I was in front of him while scratching his sweet spot he could lick my nose until I stopped. The cat I have now, if she has a sweet spot I haven’t found it.

My Boyfriend is a HUGE fan of Trololo… and he really wants that cat too! LOL

My mom has a pair of cats with their own ticks like this. One of her cats, if you scratch the right spot between his shoulderblades, he starts licking the air. The faster you rub, the faster he licks. He loves it! The other one’s special spot is by the base of her tail, like the cat in the video, and she gnaws on her right front paw. She doesn’t have fleas or ticks; she’s never been outside a day in her life and she never scratches or gnaws on herself at any other time. But when you hit that magical place, that paw will get gnawed, and she will be SO MAD at you when you stop scratching.

My cat Jasper who died last year was exactly like this-he kind of loved it, but hated it, because it made him writhe uncontrollably with joy, but he just couldn’t resist! LOL

One of my cats, Isobel, does something similar. When the tongue starts to come out I know I’ve got the spot. She’s kind of anxious and doesn’t like being reduced to a vulnerable, drooling pile of mush, so she will let me know when enough’s enough.

I swear, this is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.
Yep, the only time that cat is unhappy is when it stops.
