Not that I have to understand every bit of the narrative - but, well, I do. Did his dad refuse to attend the wedding? Is that why his mom walked him? Or was his dad dead? Even after playing football together and being a scout leader and such a great childhood, the dad wouldn’t come - even though his wife went? Living here in Seattle, it’s hard to believe a parent would do that, but I guess I do live in a bubble.
