I think he could have argued for the points. Too funny!

I’m with Ken, ho was my first thought too lol.

I remember this episode. I would totally have given it to him.

You know IIRC, the judges came back later in the show and awarded him points for that answer. I just remember because my DD and I both blew up when he was told no. ( because that’s the answer we had both shouted as well, which should tell you what my household is like lol!)
And can you tell I’m a Jeopardy addict? Yup, since I was a kid.

Very funny, and even better that he got the points for it later.

YES! He DID get that—I mean, two words, both in the dictionary, one just archaic. I love that.

That was my answer too. I thought of rake after Alex said no. Its great that he got credit for it!

I remember this episode, and “ho” is what I yelled out. I didn’t remember that they gave him the points later, but I’m glad they did. It’s totally an acceptable answer, even if it’s a bit more current today than rake.

I have a book with “Rake” in the title and I STILL yelled “ho!”

I remember my family was watching this together and we all yelled “Ho/e!” I was the only one who followed up with “Rake” though.
Never gets old.

When will I learn to pay attention to SB warnings? The coffee I snorted barely missed my keyboard.
Glad he got the points after all, though.

I laughed so loud the boychild paused Family Guy to find out why I was amused.

I’m with the hoe/ho too. Glad they gave the points back.
Once in a school exam, I was asked to state which homophone means the seed of a piece of fruit and an army officer. I wrote ‘nut’ and they marked it wrong. Sigh.

That was hilarious.
My first thought was “ho” too.

Ebony McKenna-I read the sentence in your comment as “...which homophone means a piece of fruit and an army officer.” I racked my brain thinking of fruit and officers and couldn’t find a match. D’oh! Blame it on working on a Sunday but I got it after I reread your sentence.

Of course, the first thing that popped into my head was Ho/e. It took me as long as Al to ring in and say it to think of Rake!
