Friday Videos Like Cowboys

Harlequin has a new documentary that goes behind the scenes of a cover shoot, and believe me, it’s a layer cake of eye candy up in here. You don’t even need to have the volume up if you don’t want to. And if shirtless men or gentlemen in well-fitted jeans don’t do it for you, there’s still plenty to sigh at. Just look at the scenery. I’m terrified of horses and I want to go riding out there, like, already.

There’s also a 10 minute version here:

I think a documentary about a cover shoot is brilliant because it’s promotion that’s as much about the behind the scenes production of a book, the individuals who work on the creative side, and the people who contribute to the finished project - which I find fascinating - as it is about the books themselves. The entire campaign ties into the Take a Cowboy Home website, which features the video, books, and social media links - very savvy. Plus: you can win $10,000.00 as well (link via DearAuthor).

Both videos come up with a message that they are private when I try to play them.  I want to see the cute cowboys!!!  Is there a public version anywhere?

    Same message here.

I want me some cowboy, please

I got the private message, too.  It says we need to be “friends” first.  I’m just wondering if it’s “friends” with the cowboys or friends with someone else.  (Cowboy friendly sounds like it could be fun…)

Ditto, on the ‘friends’ message. What a pity!

She loves her job. LOL. There are days when I could use a job like that, too. Of course, here in Montana, we do see cowboys on a fairly regular basis.

You know what would be awesome? If Harlequin would make calendars (One-a-Day, anyone?) of the stills from their cover shoots.

OMG. These cowboys are hot. drool drool drool hahaha

  12. Jan said on 01.22.10 at 08:33 PM[link]

It would be good if the “cowboy” riding the horse knew how to ride. He’s flexing like a sack of grain! On foot, hot! On horse, in action, tenderfoot.

    Mmmmmm….cowboys….

  14. Molly said on 01.22.10 at 09:32 PM[link]

ditto on the rider. It wouldn’t take more than a twitch from the horse and he’d be doing a double back somersault with a tuck.  Hurts my back just to watch him.

I’m on the reference desk in the middle of the library, so I have no sound.  That’s a lovely, lovely video.

    OMG! Are they not pretty?!?!

What a great way to end the day.

& I am intrigued with the documentary idea because I have always loved “behind the scenes” kinds of things.

    Guh!

That is some hot… scenery.  Yup, that’s what I was looking at.  The scenery.  Yuh-huh.

I’ll take one of those home, any day.  ;)

want86 - well, I was only asking for one, but if you’re offering 86…

Mmm.. yummy coboys. But alas only one horse between them - they must have learned to share early on as siblings ;)

SOLD!  I’m going to buy the series thanks to that documentary and I’ve never read a LLM book before!  I’m in love w/Tate! “-)

Oh, so makes me remember that great song, “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy!

    Thanks for the yummy yee-haws!

  24. Jacqueline Nunan said on 01.23.10 at 01:05 PM[link]

Are all American cowboys so ... clean? Only one of them struck me as vaguely masculine, I must confess. Cute and buff, yes, but can’t say I’m hanging out to see them douse themselves with the water bucket like our Hugh did.  But maybe that’s why you call yours cowboys and we call ours stockmen ;)

  25. Abby said on 01.24.10 at 07:12 PM[link]

I think I want Margie’s job.  However, I cannot have Margie’s job, because I would pretty much stand there and giggle.

Handsome Cowboy: “Where should I stand?”
    Me: *giggle*

It would not be very productive.

I love this video, and the fact that Westerns seem to be making a comeback. I’ve been waiting 7 years for that to happen, and I’m happy to be back in the saddle again!
