Someone get a bucket of water!

Lordy tho, that subtext reminds me…of someone. She who must not be named….

    And what perfect intonation!

The sound of this video sent my two standard poodles into an uproar! Guess they wanted him to go back to his slut, too

  3. Tara L said on 10.23.09 at 02:36 PM[link]

Ditto. The vid was funny, but watching my cat was hilarious. He had his front paws on the desk, staring at the monitor. Probably just trying to figure out where she lived, certain she’d be up for some revenge sex tonight.

Cats can make these noises? Obviously, I’m a dog person who knows nothing about cats. But I had *no* idea cats could make noises like that. It’s kind of freaky…

My Chocolate Lab slept through the whole thing and only woke up when I moved my chair (no doubt thinking I was going to get some food). Dogs.

Ah, that brings back memories of when one of my cats would suddenly get furious with the other—the cat threat ritual.  It took Threatening Creature Larger Than Cat (generally, me) to get them separated, but once they’d been on opposite sides of the house for ten minutes. they were good buds again.

I’ll have to show this to Ziggy, my cat, to see his reaction.

  7. Darlene Marshall said on 10.23.09 at 05:03 PM[link]

    @Tara L—“Revenge sex”?  Awesome!

I enjoyed this very much, and since my villain’s allergy to cats is getting some play on my Facebook page, I’m going to gleefully steal it!

  8. Fiction Vixen said on 10.23.09 at 05:53 PM[link]

Oh geez, it’s like watching an episode of Cheaters!

  9. Debra Hyde said on 10.23.09 at 05:55 PM[link]

My cat, who rests on my right arm while I write, found this video highly disturbing.  I was lucky he didn’t do a freak-out escape and scratch me in the process!

  10. Tara L said on 10.23.09 at 06:02 PM[link]

@Darlene Marshall.- LOL. Yes, revenge sex. A close relative to, but more feminine version of, the hate fuck… er, or so I’m told.

Totally OT, but cracked me up. My sister just called and was griping about Martha Stewart on The View, apparently doing some crafty stuff similar to what she did on Leno last night. She called her a “glitter whore.” Ha! I love my sis.

  11. molly_rose said on 10.23.09 at 07:38 PM[link]

Is it weird that those sounds genuinely freaked me out? Like chills down my spine.. maybe I’m secretly part cat and I’ll hit 21 someday and morph into a shape-shifter… okay, I’ve been reading too many paranormals.
    But, really… scary.

  12. StephS said on 10.23.09 at 09:54 PM[link]

OMG!  My sides hurt from laughing so hard!  My cat looked up from where she was sleeping when she heard it.  Then she just sort of stared off as she kept listening.  I swear the thought bubble over her head said, “Yeah!  You tell him honey!”

  13. Amber said on 10.24.09 at 12:08 AM[link]

Okay, you have my cats’ attention.

  14. Tinkerbon said on 10.24.09 at 01:33 AM[link]

I swear those two were outside in the lane behind my condo last night. Only, after all the tongue-lashing, they ended up having very vocal revenge sex with each other. Man, I hate hearing cats doin’ that in the middle of the night ... I could *not* get back to sleep, creeped me right out.

My cat made those sounds last time he was the vet’s office. But when I played this video he totally ignored it- I told him he was better off not having relations with female cats.

  16. Donna Marie Rogers said on 10.24.09 at 02:41 AM[link]

I’ve had a lot of cats, but man, the sounds coming out of this one gave me chills…LOL

  17. Parajunkee said on 10.24.09 at 03:32 AM[link]

I think I gave my own kitty a heart attack.

  18. Peyton said on 10.24.09 at 05:45 AM[link]

    “WAS!!!” Haha, poor kitty.

  19. orangehands said on 10.24.09 at 06:51 AM[link]

This was totally worth freaking my dog out.

(My cats didn’t notice or care. But one doesn’t like to move, and the other is outside pretending to be in a jungle, so I wasn’t expecting much reaction.)

    I’m still ROTFLMAO….

  20. Jenyfer Matthews said on 10.24.09 at 07:34 PM[link]

    Hysterical!

Funniest part to me was that “cheater” cat just sat there and took it - and she wasn’t even done when the video ended!! BWAHAHAHAHA!

  21. Tina C. said on 10.24.09 at 07:55 PM[link]

My littlest cat, in size, is also the youngest cat, in age.  He’s fully grown, just really small.  Consequently, he is my big girl’s bitch.  (She’s 20 lbs and covers me from shoulder to hip and he’s 10 lbs and compact.  It’s no contest.)  Is she in a bad mood?  Smack Ace.  Does she think his food looks better than her food?  Smack Ace, steal the food.  Does she think his litter box looks better than hers?  You get the picture.  Consequently, he can be a bit skittish if she is genuinely in full pissed off mode.  He heard the cat on this video and FREAKED out!  I turned it off because he was so upset, but he still looked under the desk, out the window, and in the hallway.  Then he went to check and see if she was in her usual spot.  That was a definite look of relief on his face when he saw that she was.  He’s now hiding in my computer desk.  Poor baby!

  22. Jami said on 10.25.09 at 01:30 AM[link]

Now me, I didn’t find this all that funny. Maybe it’s because I’m a dog person? Maybe it’s because, as I understand it, those are actually two male cats. But still, just not that funny.

But then again, I’m a weirdo.

  23. Anne D said on 10.25.09 at 01:47 AM[link]

Totally funny. But what made it so much better is kiddo who was standing over my shoulder narrating. He’s 9.

So there was some castor ateing, and vir grin’ing going on :)

KITT was the best part of Knight Rider!  April and Bonnie were the second best - the vitally important person to keep the spiffy car running was an attractive woman!  Go April & Bonnie!

As for the cats… orange (or yellow stripey cats) kitties are boys.  Granted, yellow-stripe and white patchwork can be either gender (my aunt’s ex boyfriend had a female yellow-stripe and white patchwork cat, who was impregnated by a yellow-stripe and white patchwork male, as that was the only color pattern that his great big dogs wouldn’t attack… (and is there a name for that color pattern?)  But all I could think of was that yellow stripey cats are boys… does that mean we are seeing the subtitle translated breakup of a gay couple of the kitty world?  How unconventional!  It definitely pushes the bounds of normally portrayed relationships…

person-detection word is story66 - I’m sure this site can get a lot more than 66 stories of unconventional relationships or breakups!

I had a really hard time with this video.

I guess I haven’t got to the point in my ‘maturity’ where I think aggression is acceptable.  The yowling made me nervous; I know I’m going to have nightmares in which that sound will figure prominently.

I just don’t think violence is funny.  I know people are entertained by professional wrestling.  Some people think it’s fun to see other people with the visage of pain.  Although it’s an act, I find it disturbing that the promoters pander to an audience which worships violence though.  I found this video ugly in the same vein.

The black and white cat was actually cowering, and it was afraid.  We were watching a creature being brutalized and dominated, and it was presented to us - in order to entertain us.  Have we really come to the place where the overtones of violence are entertainment?

The text doesn’t make it funny.  Would it be equally funny if the text were written such that it was a man who had caught his girlfriend in a act of betrayal and it was he who was treating her in such a horrific way?

    Hey Randy,

I’ve having a party later.  You wanna come by and piss in the punch bowl?

  27. Randy said on 10.28.09 at 07:23 AM[link]

Did you have a particular point your were trying to make, or did the grade-school name calling strategy tax your abilities?

  28. Shirley said on 10.28.09 at 08:10 AM[link]

Actually Randy - I too don’t laugh at someone being hurt or humiliated - however, knowing cats as I do - that black and white cat was not afraid and was not cowering.  It had room to back away and didn’t, its head wasn’t completely to the ground, and its ears weren’t pinned back (other than when the other cat got really loud).  I’ve seen cats cower when they are facing an agressor, and that black cat wasn’t cowering.  If anything, I would say that it was being impatiently tolerant of a “crazy cat”.

  29. Shirley said on 10.28.09 at 08:14 AM[link]

Also, although I’m sure that Charity can defend herself - she didn’t call you any names.  She did use a colloquial expression to describe your behavior (i.e. being a wet blanket, a downer, being negative) but I didn’t see anything where you were called a name.  Just sayin’.  If you can have an opinion where you make implications about those of us who enjoy such a video

I guess I haven’t got to the point in my ‘maturity’ where I think aggression is acceptable

then I am sure you would have no problem with someone else having an opinion on your opinion.  Right?

  30. randy said on 10.29.09 at 12:45 AM[link]

    Thanks Shirley:

I have no problems at all with anyone having a differing opinion.  This site was so attractive to me because it was so terribly, deliciously, iconoclastic.  I have no problem with Charity having a point of view in direct opposition to mine.  There are few things I enjoy more then a healthy debate about issues and concerns.

The attack, however,  was not on my view, nor on anything I said, it was a direct attack on me, not my stance or position.  I detest ad hominem arguments:  they are themselves an example of bullying.  One can’t tackle the validity of the others’ points, therefore the people themselves become fair game.

I admit I don’t know a lot about cats.  I don’t think it would would have made a difference though had it been ferrets, or muskrats, or fleas.  My point was I had a hard time with the use of dominance, and bullying behavior as a form of entertainment.

With all due respect, I never accused her of name calling, I said she used a name calling strategy:  she didn’t use the word, she gave a definition of the word.  I know it worked because you yourself provided the words for which she gave the definition

She did use a colloquial expression to describe your behavior (i.e. being a wet blanket, a downer, being negative) but I didn’t see anything where you were called a name.

Her strategy worked, and you provided the name(s).  You were even nice enough to point out the names defined by her definition to me.

The maturity observation was not a slur on anyone (other than myself).  I was abused as a child, and my ex-wife used to beat me.  She blamed me for making her so angry her only recourse was violence against me.  Then she told me I deserved it.  I have tried to get past it, but it is the hardest thing I have ever had to do.  I fear I may never have the maturity to move past it.  Even the Three Stooges are sometimes more than I can handle.

It was not my intent to offend anyone, I just thought on a website where people seemed to be able to say anything about a subject which was raised, I could say what I thought and have it accepted as valid.

    Sorry.

  31. Shirley said on 10.29.09 at 06:05 AM[link]

Randy - I didn’t mean to make you feel as though you had to apologize.  I’m sorry about what you have had to face in your past, and wish you only the best in working to overcome the effects of those experiences.

I think that what both Charity and I meant (and Charity can correct me if I’m wrong) and perhaps weren’t very good in bringing across is that we would encourage everyone to take posts that are meant to be humerous and lighthearted in that vein.  This is not a site that by any means makes light of violence against anyone or anything.  Just by virtue of it being on this site I would feel assured that neither one of those cats were harmed or hurt in anyway, physically or otherwise - the smart bitches wouldn’t post it if there was a chance of that.  This is definately a site where comments can get heated - but thats normally more on copyright infringement or how the general public views “romance”, than entries in the friday videos which are meant to be entertaining.

I can see where your experiences may colour your view of certain things - and I misunderstood the paragraph which I quoted.  I will say that you didn’t offend me, I did raise an eyebrow at your reaction - which for me would be an overreaction, but in the context of your experiences, I completely understand.

So I’d say chalk it up to the difficulties of communicating without inflection and expression and continue to enjoy this site and the community that is on it.

    hugs.
