Coronation Ceremony for JMC

The answer was the purplest book I’ve ever read, Blaze Wyndham by Beatrice Small. This book was such a trip I can still remember the names of Blaze and her sisters (Mary Blaze, Mary Blythe, Mary Bliss, Mary Delight, etc.) and I wish I could replace that knowledge with where I left my car keys.
But I digress! Kneel and receive thy Smart Bitche Titleâ„¢

I’ve knelt and been annointed. Wow, that sounds way more suggestive than I intended, especially in light of my new title.
I love my Smart Bitche Title! It looks like I could be one of the cover models on the historical covers that you snark on, with my goose-like neck and the sort-of gasp/grimace expression I’ve got going on :-)
It’s scary how some purple prose really sticks with you, isn’t it? I read Blaze Wyndham early in my romance-reading career, in stealth, whenever I could nab it from my grandmother’s bookshelf when I visited her house. I’ve long since forgotten the titles, authors and characters of many better books, but BW I clearly remember.

I suuuuck at remembering titles and authors, to say nothing of major plot points. I was once convinced I’d read a romance that was really the plot of a Garth Brooks song, and I couldn’t figure out who wrote it.
Yes, it’s true. I once listened to a Garth Brooks song.
