Truthfully, this makes me most nostalgic for the “Covers Gone Wild” blog entries. Ah…the days when you could see page after page of holy-crap-what-the-hell-is-THAT?! novel covers… I may have to do a site search to dig them all up again.

This week's Friday Video is a classic, sent by Aziza, and how I missed seeing this, I have no idea. I love The Avengers, and have watched most of them. Emma Peel is amazing in so many respects.

Lynz sent me this link, and said, "I was channel-surfing the other day and paused when I saw a shot of an attractive man taking his shirt off - wow, that's a really awkward first sentence, I should start thinking more before I write. Anyway, my attention was thoroughly caught and I stopped to watch the video. Seconds later, what did I see but a Harlequin Suspense being used as a fan? I was thinking the video was really cute, until I hit the 2:20 mark, at which point I realized that it was the Best. Music video. Ever. Once I stopped laughing at the ending, I realized that other romance readers might get a kick out of it. Which made me think of you! "
Lynz is right - I thought this was adorable. And someone involved in the making of this video really likes romance novels.
Cool thing I learned: the video was produced with the help of MuchFACT, which is a Canadian fund that helps Canadian musicians produce music videos. Interesting fact: "Many of Canada's most influential…

Happy New Year to everyone, including Australia and New Zealand where I think they're celebrating already. This song makes me smile, and I hope it makes you smile, too.
There are many Christmas novelty songs on the radio - there's one station that started playing nothing but holiday music back in mid-November and I'd be ready to scream if I worked here. I hear "Dominic" a few times this time a year, as I think it's pretty popular in the New York and Boston radio stations.

Via Darlene Marshall comes this year's Maccabeats video. You might remember last year's awesome song, which went bonanza viral. This year the song is beautiful, and is paired with an effort to raise money and awareness of the need for bone marrow registry donors.
Link! This song was originally recorded by Matisyahu. I am telling you, the Maccabeats are getting some use out of those toga costumes.
This year, the Maccabeats are raising awareness and funds for the Judy Greenberg Memorial Miracle Match fund which will help process buccal cell sample donations for bone marrow matching. The video also features Mayim Bialik, better known as 'Blossom,' who is credited as "Actress, Mom, and Neuroscientist" which is just all kinds of awesome.
Hanukkah starts Wednesday night next week, and then Christmas and New Years. May your holiday, whichever you celebrate, be healthy and full of miracles.

Via Joelle comes this truly evil song. It's like Erasure went and took Extra Strength EmoCedrin and made a song. About excavators. (I thought they were called backhoes, but what do I know? Apparently I know NOTHING. That's what I know.).
I love the part where the excavator takes a shower. I hope your weekend is spent doing the things you love to do, and that you get to take a shower when you're all dirty and tired.

Via Dawn comes this hilarious video that is truly not work safe, but utterly amazing in its…cheek. Dawn says, “I found this in a comment section on a Regretsy post. The post was the breast cancer video and several people left comments bemoaning the lack of a self exam video with hot girls. A commenter found this (and posted it in the comments with out warning anyone about the possibility of coffee-spitting).”
I was convinced that there was no way their hands could make that much noise, and ah-HA. They are tap dancing beneath the table, too! DUDE. There are times when I can’t coordinate my arms and legs for merely walking across the room. That’s kind of amazing.
