Sunday is the day that Jane and I are featured at the Borders True Romance Blog, so that means today is our first column. Woo hoo!
Today we’re talking about romances we recommend, books we love, and authors we’re looking forward to reading. We step outside romance, too, when we talk about the books we give as gifts.
We hope you’ll stop by and talk with us, this and every Sunday.

One of the features I’m most proud of at the Borders True Romance Blog is that each Friday we’ll be featuring a guest column from one of the many awesome romance bloggers writing online today. This week, we’re kicking off with Jessica from Racy Romance Reviews, and she’s talking about escape and art in romance - and what we readers get out of romance novels.
(Also, I want to say: I LOVE her new glasses).
My favorite part of what she says today: “Romances feed our minds by presenting human life, especially romantic love, in its complexity and diversity…. Yes, romance is escape, but not a passive one. When we read romance, we actively embark on a journey with a skilled writer who creates, and invites us to co-create, worlds that nourish and enrich us.” Oh, yes yes yes.
I hope you’ll stop by and join our discussion, this and every Friday. And if you’ve got a recommendation of a blogger we should include on the Friday schedule, please, .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Sue is one of the most recognizable faces in the industry. You might have met her at a conference or at an RWA chapter meeting, or read an interview with her online - it’s hard to get involved in the genre without meeting Sue. Sue started reading romance over ten years ago, and is among the most enthusiastic and well informed romance experts - which is good since she has what has to be The Worst Job in the Universe: she’s the romance buyer for all Borders stores. She has to read romance novels. Professionally.
Jane and I try to control our jealousy over that one. WOO…
