I married him because he makes me laugh and also gets MY sense of humor, so…yeah, he gets to live.

Ah, that website made me laugh.  And now I want the book.  Even though I would normally pass on it.  Strange how humor works that way.

I’ve already commented enough on the Ellen Hopkins scandal.  Hell hath no fury like a gay teenager’s scorn.  Sorry, ladies, but between the hormones, angst, and lack of proper literature, we have some DEEP anger issues.  :P

That is one of the funniest author websites I’ve ever seen. I love the tiny print at the bottom, it had me in tears I was laughing so hard.

Funny that today is the annivery of female voting rights, as I was JUST thinking yesterday, “What’s the date of passing of female suffrage?” Today, apparently! Woot!

Do you suppose the folks who asked Ellen Hopkins to not attend the festival, actually READ her books? I’d bet real money that they didn’t.

As we used to say in the olden days: “Right on, sister!!!”.

A long time ago, I worked for a NATO unit.  The European officers were male because women only served as nurses in their militaries.  They sneared at me because I expected to be treated with respect and dignity.  While I enjoyed living in Europe, I did not like the job and was glad to return to the US.  Although the US is not a perfect democracy, I am glad that I can vote to make it as near perfect as possible.

And a shout out to Susanna for a very clever website!

My husband, a computer officer, just rolled his eyes when I asked him to design my website (he’s too busy with work, Scouts, and golf).

We all know that “headless” would be the number one cliche!

I know 90 years must seem ancient history to some, but I put it in my life perspective.  My mother was born 4 years after women got the vote.  That’s recent as history goes.  My grandmother probably never voted because she died 8 years later.  I have touched the hand of a woman who touched the hand of a woman who couldn’t vote most of her life.  That’s recent history.

I’m proud to say I helped Kristan Higgins with those ebook sales, as, thanks to the Sizzlin’ Summer Book Club, I bought the book to read on my iPad’s Kindle app. And I have to say, I absolutely loved it. To the point where I was working at home yesterday, and spent much of the day reading instead, which means i’m now behind, and will likely have to work over the weekend. So, thanks a lot, Kristen. (And don’t tell my boss.)
