50% The Duchess War by Courtney Milan at Kobo - Valid Worldwide

Book The Duchess Wars by Courtney MilanFrom 15 February until 20 February, The Duchess War by Courtney Milan is 50% off with coupon code “SmartBitches50.”

That coupon code is only valid on that book. The after coupon price is about $2 in the US, give or take taxes and whatever other magic things might be added in your locality. I'm not sure of the price in other countries.

If you haven't tried Milan's books, this is a great opportunity. Carrie S reviewed this book and gave it an A. Milan's writing is always elegant and emotionally powerful. She's wonderfully skilled at writing romances with compex characters and layered conflict. If you're in the US, you might have a long weekend coming up, so why not get a new book, right?

Here's the book description:

Miss Minerva Lane is a quiet, bespectacled wallflower, and she wants to keep it that way. After all, the last time she was the center of attention, it ended badly—so badly that she changed her name to escape her scandalous past. Wallflowers may not be the prettiest of blooms, but at least they don’t get trampled. So when a handsome duke comes to town, the last thing she wants is his attention.

But that is precisely what she gets.

Because Robert Blaisdell, the Duke of Clermont, is not fooled. When Minnie figures out what he’s up to, he realizes there is more to her than her spectacles and her quiet ways. And he’s determined to lay her every secret bare before she can discover his. But this time, one shy miss may prove to be more than his match…

(The Duchess War is the first full-length book (97,000 words) in the Brothers Sinister series. It is preceded by The Governess Affair, a prequel novella. Each book stands alone, but those who prefer to read in order might want to read that book first. The Governess affair is .99c, and received a B+ from SB Sarah.)

This coupon is valid for everyone, everywhere (Yay! Thank you to Milan and Kobo for that bit of magic).

I hope, if you buy it, you'll let me know what you think.

  2. Jenni says:

Excellent! I have been eyeing this up for a while!

BTW, the coupon brought the price down to £1.25 in the UK.

  3. SB Sarah says:

Dude,  £1.25? That is AWESOME. WOO! I hope you like it!

  4. Brisherwood says:

are kobo books able to be used on the nook?  or only on kobo machines?

  5. Brian says:

@Brisherwood, you can read this on a Nook. It’s a DRM-Free ePub and can be sideloaded just fine (for that matter Adobe DRM’d ePub’s from Kobo can be sideloaded to a Nook as well).

  6. Betty Fokker says:

It was worth twice the full price (in my opinion) so by all means snap it up while you can!

  7. Brisherwood says:

    Thanks! 🙂
