I just…I still…What the hell was this book? The trigger warnings alone…I had to take notes as I went so I wouldn’t miss any. Check out this list: child abuse (emotional and physical) drug addiction mental illness emotionally toxic parent child death mentions of child sexual abuse memories of marital rape attempted suicide/suicidal tendencies fat shaming slut shaming The thing is…only half of these were relevant to either the plot or the development of the … Continue reading The Secret Sister by Brenda Novak →

RECOMMENDED: Head Over Heels is book 3 in the Lucky Harbor series, and is one of the best in the series. I remember reading this book at a conference and not wanting to leave my room so I could finish it. It's hard to beat life-threatening asthma as a reason why the hero and heroine don't get down and dirty. This book is one of this month's Kindle deals at Amazon and is on sale … Continue reading Books on Sale: Contemporaries from Jill Shalvis, Roxanne St. Claire and Brenda Novak →

The last days of the biggest charity auction in romance land are here – and there’s still some fantastic items up for bid. From an adspace over at Dear Author which is, as of this writing, going for over $400.00, to a proposal critique from Angie James currently priced at over $300.00, there’s opportunities out the yin-yang. I love the Web services donations and the Once in a Lifetime page is drool-worthy: sailing? Three nights … Continue reading Time is almost up for Brenda Novak Diabetes Auction 2009! →
The 2009 Brenda Novak Online Auction to Benefit Diabetes Research is on. This year’s goal $300,000.00. First day total money raised? $42,222.00 That is some big money – and I bet the goal is in reach by 15 May. Full disclosure: we donated two, but I wasn’t talking about us. African safari? Big screen tv? Damn, y’all. … Continue reading It’s May 1: Do You Know Where Brenda Novak Is? →
