Catnip for me is the handsome but broody, cantankerous, injured/handicapped in some way hero hiding in his castle. I really liked Tessa Dare’s Romancing the Duke. I also recommend anything by Elizabeth Hoyt, especially her Maiden Lane series.
I keep an extensive wish list on ARe, just for occasions like this (although it’s not as satisfying now that Carina and Harlequin are excluded from the rebate sales).
I exercised great self restraint and only bought two yesterday, both mm PNR – Lord of the White Hell by Ginn Hale and Midnight in Berlin by JL Merrow.
Lord of the White Hell is amazing–and the rest of the series are really good too. I found the second duology less engaging than the first–mostly due to the setting. But the characters and writing are excellent in both.
