The Rec League: Thanksgiving Romances

The Rec League - heart shaped chocolate resting on the edge of a very old book

I received an email from Abby, who wrote: With the holidays coming up, I was hoping to find a Thanksgiving romance. I know Thanksgiving isn’t as “sexy” as some of the other holidays (full stomachs and such), but it’s my favorite, and I was curious if you knew of any or had any to recommend. I…

Books on Sale: Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen & More

RECOMMENDED: Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen is $1.99! This author became an auto-buy for me after I read this book as a part of a GoodReads reading challenge. I would liken this book to women’s fiction with a magical realism slant. It’s heartwarming and beautiful and has a 4-star rating on GR. The biggest complaint seems to be the book is a little predictable, but we all need an easy read now and again. It’s the first book in the Waverley Family series.

Vicki is looking for a book she caught a glimpse of recently – and is hopeful one of you will know which book it was: On Columbus Day, I was in a waiting room browsing the Kindle Storefront. I had just happened on a book that looked promising and I was called back for my appointment. I…

Books on Sale: Elusive Passion by Kathryn Smith & More

Elusive Passion by Kathryn Smith is .99c at most vendors. This is the first book in the Ryland Brothers series, and features a courtesan who kidnaps a marquess (as you do) and accuses him of murder (of course). Their relationship then progresses from hate to love (naturally). Those who enjoyed this book adored the heroine, who is resourceful, smart, brave, and takes no crap from anyone. This book has a 3.9-star average.

At Star’s End by Anna Hackett

At Star’s End

Oh, dear.  At Star’s End has so much promise, but it ends up being so haphazard that it might as well have been constructed by sticking random Legos together. And not in a good way. The premise of this novella is pure CarrieS crack. Dr. Eos Rai is trying to find the Mona Lisa, which…
