With fewer and fewer historical romances being traditionally published, I’m finding it harder to find arcs of books that scratch that itch for me and I’ve pretty much exhausted my small town library’s supply of historical romance. Where I was going wrong was letting myself be intimidated by the self-pubbed and indie-pubbed world. It seemed vast to me and I had no idea where to start. Who could I trust to deliver the kinds of … Continue reading Going Hunting: Self-Published and Indie-Pubbed Historical Romance→
Welcome back! We’ve made it to Wednesday. Congratulations! I have personal training on Wednesdays, so most of my day is a sense of dread up until my appointment. However, I’m always glad I went when the session is done. Even if my trainer kicks my ass. I’ve been attending sessions since July and I think I just need to come to terms that I will never be a gym person. Are any of you the … Continue reading Links: Goodnight Moon, Glamor Shots, & More→

Would that I, like this book’s heroine, were newly turned sixteen again, for if I were I would have absolutely swooned over The Wicked Lies of Habren Faire. I cannot overstress how madly I would have loved this story. Now I’m old and cranky so I viewed it with a more demanding eye, but anyone interested in Welsh folklore and grumpy heroines will enjoy this road trip through the land of the Tylwyth Teg (fae).
This HaBO request comes from Emily, who wants to find this series: I read a romance series in maybe 2018-2019 and I cannot find it any where. It was a series where a fae soldier found his fated mate in each book. The first one is about the heroine being framed for murdering a political figure. She is a soldier who was part of the political figure’s security. The hero takes her through a portal … Continue reading HaBO: Fae Knotting→

Big news!! Because of the Smart Bitches After Dark community, I’ve been able to turn off ALL of the external ads on SBTB. You’ll still see ads in the sidebar, or between content if you’re on mobile but that adserver is in-house – meaning I manage, administer, and control it. Which also means that you won’t run into ads for things that are offensive or anathema to the community values here at SBTB, such as banners … Continue reading Thanks to Smart Bitches After Dark→
