Links: Marbles, Nightmare Towns, & More

Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses.Did you know it’s Wednesday? I feel like it’s one of those weeks where I have no clue what day it is. I’ve been insanely busy on the weekends and it’s throwing me off. Keep your finds crossed for me that I get a lazy weekend soon!

This Monday, Sarah will be on Jeff & Will’s Big Gay Fiction podcast! Don’t miss it!

I really loved this McSweeney’s article, “Seen on a Telephone Pole in Your Neighborhood.”

Big thanks to Shel for bringing this to our attention. If you’ve purchased books from the Carina Press site, be warned that they are shutting down their e-commerce functions.

As of October 2018, ecommerce functionality will be removed from CarinaPress.com—meaning we will no longer sell ebooks or fulfill previous ebook purchases. Additionally, the My Bookshelf/My Account section will be deactivated.

To ensure that you have a copy of all of your purchases, here is what you need to do:

Before October 1st, please download and save all the ebooks on your CarinaPress.com bookshelf to a place that you will be able to access in the future, as you will no longer be able to access them from CarinaPress.com.

But don’t worry! CarinaPress.com will continue to be updated monthly and will feature new releases from our authors as always. You’ll still be able to browse titles and sort by your favorite authors, genres and categories. We invite you to use the convenient shop links on the site to purchase Carina Press titles on Harlequin.com and other online retail sites.

Thanks again to Shel and we hope you manage to grab all your books!

The English town of Ipswich is apparently the stuff of nightmares.

I have become obsessed with Jelle’s Marble Runs. Essentially, the creator sets up a bunch of complex marble race courses and even recreates the Olympics for his marbles. It’s really soothing to put on one of the playlists and cheer for your favorite marble teams.

Don’t forget to share what super cool things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

I have so many questions about Jelle’s Marble Run, I don’t even know where to begin! And about halfway through I realized I was seriously watching the marbles to see who would win. 🙂 I thought this article was pretty funny today too! https://www.manrepeller.com/2018/09/does-anyone-actually-eat-cereal-for-breakfast-anymore.html

I’ve started to listening to a new podcast, WOLVERINE: THE LONG NIGHT (an official Marvel production), and you might want to, too. Wolverine is voiced by Richard Armitage!

I can’t get past the spiders and the music. Nope, nope, nope.

I was picturing marble statues running races and got really confused.

My whole household is really into Formula 1 so that Jelle’s Marble Run with its faux-serious commentary is going to be a huge hit — and not just with the kids. Those names! That podium! The standings! OMG. Totally hilarious. Just what I needed today. Thank you, Amanda, for the share!

My two romance podcasts come together. I’m not sure I can stand the excitement!
