  1. Sara says:

Alexis Daria’s Take the Lead! It’s the Dancing with the Stars romance with richly characterized protagonists I didn’t know I needed. But oh, did I.

  2. Cindy says:

WildFire by Ilona Andrews is by far my most beloved book this year. That whole series really made me happy dance all over the place.

  3. flchen1 says:

Joanna Bourne’s Beauty Like the Night. My only “complaint” is that I’ll be reading/re-reading this until her next release 😉

  4. Jcscot says:

I loved Julia Quinn’s Girl with a Make-Believe Husband – perfect comfort reading for the current climate!!!

  5. Michelle says:

Alyssa Cole’s An Extraordinary Union–definitely my favorite book of the year.

  6. TaraR says:

The Devil in Spring Lisa Kleypas made me ridiculously happy.

  7. Katherine McCorry says:

Alyssa Cole – An Extraordinary Union. I’m usually not a fan of American Historicals, but I loved this Civil War romance. Can’t wait to read more of her books!

  8. Janiec says:

I would recommend Lucy Parker’s “Pretty Face.” The first book in the series is also great.

  9. KF says:

I really enjoyed Dating You, Hating You by Christina Lauren.

  10. Shevaun says:

I loved Devil in Spring! Also, for a non romance, The Stone Sky by N.K. Jemisin just rocked my world.

  11. Francesca says:

Living to See You, a WWII romance by Bee Johnstone. It’s incredibly old fashioned in its writing style, but has one of the sweetest love stories I’ve read in years.

  12. Erin says:

Sarah MacClean’s Day of the Duchess was the feminist romance I needed in 2017.

  13. Diane says:

Got to go with one of my fave authors – Lisa Kleypas’ Devil in Spring

  14. Kate says:

    Wildfire by Ilona Andrews!

  15. Veronica says:

Loved The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden. I’ve recommended and even gifted it a few times.

  16. Amy says:

    Devil in Spring

  17. MollyO says:

Lucy Parker’s Pretty Face. I liked it more than Act Like It and I freaking loved that book!

  18. Rebe says:

Wildfire by Ilona Andrews was my favorite. So fun!

  19. Naomi says:

“Most” is tricky, but if I can pick a trilogy of which at least the last book was published this year, I’ve been recommending KJ Charles’s Sins of the City trilogy.

  20. blodeuedd says:

Most, way too hard. But…Gather the daughters by Jennie Melamed cos it was so effed up

  21. The Obsession bu Nora Roberts
I know this is probably a really well known book because – Roberts – but this book seriously helped resolve my reading block. Its a bit of a ‘not for Sarah’ because it is heavy on suspense but it seriously brought me back to the love of books.

  22. Lostshadows says:

Giant Trouble, by Ursula Vernon. (It’s not a romance, but it’s fun!)

  23. Azure says:

I loved, loved, LOVED Good Boy by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy.

  24. Amber says:

The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare was one of the very few five star reviews I gave this year. Another book I loved was Rich People Problems, the final book in Kevin Kwan’s Crazy Rich Asian’s trilogy. It’s not technically a romance, but I feel like the trilogy really could be considered a romance when taken together.

  25. Whitney says:

I loved Wildfire by Ilona Andrews

  26. Hope-and-Memory says:

Hard to pick… maybe Lucy Parker’s Pretty Face!

  27. Gigi says:

My recommendations for this year would be Penny Reid’s Dating-ish and Beard in Mind, Ilona Andrew’s Wildfire, Lisa Kleypas Devil in Spring, Sarina Bowen’s Bountiful and Kristen Callihan’s The Hot Shot.

  28. Michelle says:

Pretty Face, by Lucy Parker. But I also loved An Extraordinary Union by Alyssa Cole and The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare, and I still have Joanna Bourne’s Beauty Like the Night and Loretta Chase’s A Duke in Shining Armor in my TBR pile.

  29. Lora says:

I’m torn between The Hating Game (Sally Thorne) and The Rebel Prince (Molly Jameson). Loved them both with all the love.

  30. Jen M. says:

I’m repeating one that many have already mentioned, but An Extraordinary Union was wonderful.

  31. Anna TM says:

I have to recommend The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. It’s not a romance, but it’s a powerful and important read with some beautiful relationships at the core.

  32. Rebecca says:

I really liked Silence Fallen by Patricia Briggs.

  33. Tameka says:

    Wildfire by Ilona Andrews

  34. Iby says:

Wildfire by Illona Andrews (although that whole series and the Innkeeper series were both new to me this year and much loved!).

  35. I read several graphic novels this year, so I’ll recommend Jessica Jones: Uncaged. If you like the TV show, you might want to check out the comics too.

  36. Olivia says:

Karen Rose’s “Monster in the Closet”, definitely didn’t feel long enough, but it also brought together several characters’ storylines from other books which was awesome.

  37. Suzy says:

The Scotsman Who Saved Me by Hannah Howell

  38. Stephanie N says:

I loved Silver Silence by Nalini Singh. Love love love the series.

  39. Elizabeth says:

“The Bookshop on the Corner” by Jenny Colgan. It is a love letter to books and reading, and a gentle romance.

  40. Cat says:

Hamilton’s Battalion! It was just what I needed this year!
