Big announcement! Sarah will be doing a live taping of Smart Podcast, Trashy Books at RT 2017 in Atlanta, GA!
We’re planning on mayhem, quizzes, drunk book recommendations from a librarian (maybe), and bizarre shenanigans, so save yourself a seat, bring a drink and some knitting if you’ve got some.
TWO IMPORTANT NOTES:
- In order to attend, YOU MUST be registered for the RT Convention. Access to the space is limited to conference attendees only. (I’m sorry!)
- That space is limited! So please don’t book a seat if you’re a maybe. We want loud, determined YESes! ALL THE YESES! (YESES is totally a word. So is outro.)
Sadly, Orville & Wilbur will not be in attendance, but all of the Bitches should be there! Come say hi!

My hope is to be able to record everything, edit it and release it as an episode – with transcript, of course – after RT is over. Fingers crossed that all the technology works!!

Like, you know when you were a kid and you’d think about getting presents or an upcoming trip? And you’d be chill, then you’d think about it, then all of a sudden you’d get like a whole-body happy shake as an excited noise would jump outta ya?
(At least, I assume other kids did that.)
WELL THAT’S BEEN MY ASS EVERY DAMN DAY THIS MONTH! I even did a little happy shimmy this morning getting out of bed. And for an introvert who stays in her house all day making YouTube videos about romance, THAT SAYS SOMETHING! I am soooo ready to do ALLLLL the socializing with alllll the romtastic humans!
@Jacqueline OMG, you crack me up! I’m imagining we all meet and start jumping up and down with glee. This week I’m finishing up “Act Like It” by Lucy Parker and it’s so, so lovely. We’re going to have to flag each other down at RT.
@Demi Dude. DUDE!!! I am like a 13 year old trapped in the body of a 27 year old fangirl; THE SQUEEING JUMP-O-LYMPICS WILL HAPPEN I SWEAR! 😀 The flagging will indubitably happen! It’ll be easy to spot me; I dress like a Victorian goth princess reject, I will indubitably have a a camera permanently glued to my hand because my romance YouTube channel + vogging = me, AND I will have my romance-reading hub with me. I’m like a solar eclipse; you can’t miss my ass.
Oooooh! See, I’ve heard Act Like It recced a lot around here, and I’m really keen to give it a read. My only thing is that it’s in first person and that’s my Kryptonite. I can enjoy if it’s in split 1st person POV but I don’t know if Act Like It uses that style :(. Glad you’re enjoying it though! PRAISE BE UNTO THE GOOD BOOK GODS!

I RSVPed a few days ago and I’m finalizing my itinerary for RT. I know the show is at 4:30-6:30 on Friday, but where is the location going to be in the hotel?
The RT agenda lists all events location (eg LL2/Exhibit/Reader Level Room: Grand Hall West, 1-2) but I don’t see what room/area this will be held at. Sorry if I’m being stupid and overlooked it!
