Smart Knitters, Trashy Books on Ravelry!

Smart Knitters Trashy Books Ravelry group logo with the words plus a heart shaped ball of yarn with needles in it

Calling all Stitchy Bitches! We now have a group on Ravelry!

Smart Knitters, Trashy Books is the place to discuss what we’re reading, what we’re crafting and why we can never have too many books or too much yarn. Come hang out with us!

New to Ravelry? It’s a free site with loads of knitting and crochet patterns, discussion groups, and tools for organizing your yarn and projects.

I like to think of our group as a virtual representation of my living room (except less dusty). Grab a drink, move the cat, put up your feet, and work on your project with a group of other romance-lovin’ ladies. We’ll be waiting to chat with you!

This is so cool; two of my favourite sites in one place! I travel a lot in my job and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sat in a hotel room listening to your podcast while knitting. (Or how many books you enablers have caused me to buy!)

Yay! Joining this group will be worth the sacrifice of putting down my addictive brioche project for a couple minutes! Thanks, Elyse!

  4. roserita says:

OK, now I’m bummed. I keep trying to knit, especially in the fall. I loooove yarn stores, and I never miss the Wool Gathering in Yellow Springs (knitters/weavers have SUCH cool stuff). But–it just doesn’t work for me. I wish the SB would join the equivalent of Ravelry for cross-stitchers, dying breed that we are.

  5. Nina says:

Oh yes, the magical intersection of two of my favorite communities.

  6. Carol S says:

Blackbunny (rav name) reporting for duty!

@Roserita, I dabble in cross-stitch and needlepoint although I am mostly a knitter — maybe the SBTBers-That-Be wouldn’t mind if we posted in the group in a dedicated thread?

  7. Rachel says:

    Yes! My two favorite things.

  8. LML says:

@TheoLibrarian, what is an addictive brioche project, if you don’t mind sharing?

  9. Michelle says:

Awesome, just joined. Am mloug on ravelry.

  10. cayenne says:

Joined, what a great idea! I’m tharsis on Ravelry, mostly a crocheter – maybe we can have a crochet discussion topic?

  11. Denise says:

Cayenne – I’m a hooker as well, wookieonendor on Ravelry. I’ll be joining this group, and we can chat front and back loops!

  12. TheoLibrarian says:

@LML Of course! It’s the Ramble http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ramble-4. I finished it last night so updated project photos should be coming in the next week or so. I’m TheoLibrarian over there too.

I thought regular brioche was addicting but wow herringbone brioche is way more so. I need do cast on another patterned brioche project immediately.

  13. Demi says:

Very late to the party but this is so exciting! I’m new to knitting – working on my first project – and have been cross-stitching for many years.
During RT breaks I was tooooootally in the hotel room listening to music and knitting.
