Links: Romance & Superb Owls Smell Like Teen Spirit

Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses. It’s Wednesday! And now begins the home stretch to the weekend. We hope you have some great plans (I’m seeing the Lego Batman movie!), but if not, I’m sure you have a good book to read.

The Super Bowl was Sunday, but many other people participated in Superb Owl Sunday. It’s exactly as awesome as it sounds. If you want to gaze upon some more superb owls, The Atlantic has you covered with an owl slideshow!

It’s Romance Week at Goodreads, and they’re doing some cool things with romance authors. My favorite is the 14-word love story:

“She rescued a wounded wolf…and woke to a man. He smiled. She fell.”
Nalini Singh

“Every day
Same train
Empty seat
He sits
We talk
We miss our stop.”
Kylie Scott

They also have Q&A’s going on, plus some themed reading lists!

I’m over at Book Riot, listing 100 Must-Read Sports Romances, for those who are inspired by athletic men and women in a uniform!

Season 2 of Authorized, an Audible Original series hosted by Faith Salie, has finally started!

This season, host Faith Salie (NPR’s Wait Wait, Don’t Tell Me!, CBS Sunday Morning) is talking to some of our favorite authors on the theme of sex, love, and romance in writing.

From romance novels to contemporary fiction and personal essays, Faith and her all-star lineup reveal their takes on what makes a great love story—both on and off the page. They might even debunk some stereotypes on the way. Plus, special interviews with other literary guests like librarians, booksellers, editors, and slang lexicographers.

Releases every Tuesday starting February 7th. Follow in Channels in the Audible app.

I know I’ll be listening. Will you?

USB Wall Outlet Adaptors!

What do we want? More USB ports! Where do we want them? EVERYWHERE!

If you need something to pump you up today or to get ready for the weekend, may I suggest 1000 musicians playing Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” together? Everyone is so happy and honestly, I’d love to see this in concert.

Don’t forget to share what super cool things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

Don’t miss a thing with Daily SBTB updates!

For those seeing Lego Batman, thsi may interest you: This Saturday Toys R Us is having a free build for Emmett’s small Batmobile! Check the TRU website for participating stores (I think it’s all of them), and I think this would be ideal for kids (and some adults) who love the movie.
