    Nuts by Alice Clayton

RECOMMENDEDNuts by Alice Clayton is $1.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and only available on Amazon right now. Clayton’s books are rarely discounted, so grab this while you can! This is the first book in the Hudson Valley series and I really love this series. It’s funny and sexy and has so many delicious foodie elements. It’s over the top and I love the heroine, though I’ll admit the circumstances that send her back to her hometown are a little silly.

From New York Times bestselling author Alice Clayton, the first in a brand-new romance series telling the humorously sexy tale of Roxie, a private chef who gets a taste of love—but is it to stay, or to go?

After losing almost all of her clients in one fell swoop following an accident involving whipped cream, private chef to Hollywood’s elite Roxie Callahan gets a call from her flighty mother, saying she’s needed home in upstate New York to run the family diner. Once she’s back in the Hudson Valley, local organic farmer Leo delivers Roxie a lovely bunch of walnuts, and soon sparks—and clothing—begin to fly. Leo believes that everything worth doing is worth doing slowly…and how! But will Roxie stay upstate, or will the lure of West Coast redemption tempt her back to Tinseltown?

  2. Gloriamarie says:

I LOVED this book so much that I wish I could read it again for the first time.

I’ve only read the first two books in this series but I loved them and so wish I could afford more because Clayton’s books are not in my library.

  3. Emily G says:

Thanks to this post I am now reading this book, I’m halfway through, and about twenty pages from declaring an end to my juice cleanse detox. So much yummy food porn!

  4. Lora says:

I read this and wanted to love it after the bitchery recommended it. But the mc was so condescending to her mother and so unequivocally self-righteous that I couldn’t even with her. The writing was fabulous of course, no quibble there, but the character itself was far too egotistical for my taste.

  5. Lizzy says:

@Lora, yes! Oh my goodness I couldn’t handle the heroine. I didn’t even finish, I could for the life of me get into her character.

  6. Dora says:

I agree with Lora and Lizzy. I thought the narrative was snappy in places, but far too smug, and frequently mistakes being snitty and catty with actual wit.
