  • Dressed to Kiss

Dressed to Kiss by Madeline Hunter

Dressed to Kiss is $2.99! This is an anthology featuring romances by Madeline Hunter, Caroline Linden, Megan Frampton, and Myretta Robens. Readers love that all four stories have a common connection and seems to be rather well-received on Goodreads.

True love never goes out of style….

Once renowned for creating the most envied gowns in London, Madame Follette’s dressmaking shop has fallen far out of fashion. The approaching coronation of King George IV offers a chance to reclaim former glory by supplying stunning new wardrobes to the most glittering society in Regency England. In the face of long-held secrets, looming scandals, and the potential ruin of their shop, the dressmakers of Follette’s are undaunted, not even by the most unexpected complication of all: true love.

The Duke’s Dressmaker by Madeline Hunter

When the Duke of Barrowmore walks into the dress shop, Selina Fontaine assumes her secret identity will compromised. Four years ago this man’s brother seduced her and abandoned her to scandal, and she holds the duke responsible. To her amazement the duke is more interested in pursuing her than exposing her, however—and that pursuit soon becomes seductively pleasurable.

The Colors of Love by Myretta Robens

Delyth Owen’s exuberant passion for her new job as a dressmaker at Madame Follette’s is matched only by her love of diverse, vibrant, and frequently unfortunate color combinations. Simon Merrithew, the pseudonymous author of a well-regarded fashion column, is horrified by the gown Delyth creates for a friend, and suspects her motives. He sets out to uncover her duplicity, but instead, he uncovers genuine joy and discovers the colors of love.

No Accounting for Love by Megan Frampton

Miss Katherine Grant is a lady’s companion, one whose number of dishonorable offers (six) greatly outweigh her honorable ones (zero). Now tasked with making certain her charge, Lady Euphemia, does not contract herself to someone inappropriate, she finds herself inexplicably drawn to Mr. Henry Dawkins, the inappropriate gentleman Lady Euphemia wants to charm, who keeps the books at Madame Follette’s. But it seems that Henry only has eyes for Miss Katherine Grant.

A Fashionable Affair by Caroline Linden

Madame Follette’s is Felicity Dawkins’s birthright; her mother founded it, and now she runs it. She’s fiercely committed to making it the most exclusive modiste in London. The Earl of Carmarthen also has big plans for the shop—he wants to buy it and tear it down, to make way for a grand new boulevard of shops. One way or another, he’s determined to persuade Felicity…not only to sell her shop, but to explore the passion that sparks between them every time they meet.

What a Lady Needs for Christmas by Grace Burrowes

What a Lady Needs for Christmas by Grace Burrowes is $1.99 at Amazon and Barnes & Noble! This is a marriage of convenience holiday romance set in the Scottish Highlands. Some readers felt there was a lot of filler, while others really liked the dress designer heroine. It has a 3.7-star rating on Goodreads.

  • The Rake and the Recluse

The Rake and the Recluse by Jenn LeBlanc

The Rake and the Recluse by Jenn LeBlanc is 99c! This is the first book in the Lords of Time series and features a heroine who travels back in time. Some readers thought the romance went on too long, which led to boredom. But others loved the heroine’s journey to the past and the slow burn romance. The rest of the books in the series are on sale for 99c each!

    Great Britain, 1880

    A woman out of time.
    A man stifled by propriety.
A nemesis determined to take her away.
    A brother to the rescue.

The Duke of Roxleigh is running the track, training his new set of Friesians when a woman runs from the forest directly into his path, nearly killing her.

He takes her back to his home to care for her… but there’s something not quite right and though he wishes to be done with the entire situation, he just can’t keep her from his thoughts…

Francine Larrabee was on a path bound for certain glory, until she lands in Victorian England and is nearly killed by a team of terrifying black horses led by a Duke, Gideon, who matches them in spirit and demeanor and always seems to be cross. Though she is drawn to her rescuer, he wants nothing to do with her.

Brother to The Duke of Roxleigh, the Lord Peregrine Trumbull, is Viscount of Roxleigh in name, but a rake of the worst order by action…. until he meets his match in a girl who requires his complete submission, something he has never been familiar with.

Lilly Steele was a simple country miss until she was kidnapped, brutally attacked and left for dead in the far reaches of Great Britain, now she has escaped the aftermath and has asked Perry to do the untenable.

She managed to recover her physical injuries… but the emotional scars run deep and will require absolute trust and healing from an altogether unlikely source.

  • Moonshadow

    Moonshadow by Thea Harrison

Moonshadow by Thea Harrison is available for preorder for $2.99! This book was mentioned in December’s Hide Your Wallet. I’m really excited for this one and it comes out December 13th. Also, I’m really liking the cover. Is anyone else looking forward to reading this?

Her past is a blank, her future uncertain….

Recovering from a shooting, LAPD witch consultant Sophie Ross leaves her job and travels to the U.K. to search for answers about her childhood. When she encounters a Daoine Sidhe knight of the Dark Court, she becomes entangled in an ancient hatred between two arcane forces.

He has given his body and soul to fight for his people….

Barred from his homeland along with his surviving brother knights, Nikolas Sevigny is embroiled in a conflict that threatens everything he holds dear. Only by uniting his people’s resources can they hope to prevail against Isabeau, the deadly Queen of the Light Court. He will do anything and use anyone to return home to Lyonesse.

When Nikolas encounters Sophie, he sees a tool to be used. The insouciant witch might be the key to unlocking every passageway that has been barred to the knights of the Dark Court, even as a fascination for her takes root in what’s left of his soul.

Sophie has no intention of becoming anyone’s pawn, yet the fierce Nikolas is so compelling, she can’t deny the temptation that endangers her guarded heart.

As magic threatens Lyonesse, Queen Isabeau unleashes her merciless Hounds, and Nikolas and Sophie become embroiled in a race for survival. Meanwhile, the passion that ignites between them burns too hot to be denied and quickly turns into obsession.

Thank goodness they both know better than to fall in love…

  1. Joanna says:

Connie Willis Miracle and Other Christmas Stories is on sale for $1.99, at Amazon and B&N – I know there are other Connie Willis fans here.

Also there is a deal on Winter Wonderland by Elizabeth Mansfield at Amazon for $1.99. This is an ebook reprint of one of her older Regencys and probably won’t last long as a deal from Open Road Media – there sales tend to be only a day or two.

  2. mel burns says:

    And a clickety click click…..

  3. Msb says:

Gosh, I’ve lived to see book covers come full circle. When I started reading romances, a book called Moonshadow would have a revealingly dressed woman running from a big house at night. Now it’s a revealingly dressed man (with sword). If you’d like to read about 20th-century Gothics (as opposed to the much earlier originals), Joanna Russ wrote a great essay about them called (IIRC) “Somebody’s trying to kill me and I think it’s my husband”.

  4. DonnaMarie says:

I’m all a twitter for Moonshadow. Harrison has introduced or referenced some interesting characters from the European demesnes that I’m eager to get more of.

  5. ClaireC says:

Love me some Regency anthologies – clickity!

Manda Collins novella “Once Upon a Christmas Kiss” is .99 on Amazon right now. Gimme all the holiday novellas!

  6. KellyM says:

We Wish You A Naughty Christmas: A Christmas Collection (Anthology) by such authors as Sky Warren and many more authors with porn star names is .99 or free on KU. I haven’t read it, but it appears to be a big hit on both Amazon and Goodreads reviews. And oh holy nite! Check out that cover!

  7. Cat C says:

Amanda, I’m sad that you missed the opportunity to say all the stories in Dressed to Kiss had a common…thread 🙂

  8. Amanda says:

@Cat C: Wow…I’m actually really disappointed in myself now, haha.

  9. Theresa says:

I really disliked What A Lady Needs for Christmas. I usually love Grace Burrowes but could not get into this story and hated the heroine. And the hero fell into the TSTL camp.

  10. Lora says:

Short stories about a dress shop! TAKE MY MONEY
