Gosh, I’ve lived to see book covers come full circle. When I started reading romances, a book called Moonshadow would have a revealingly dressed woman running from a big house at night. Now it’s a revealingly dressed man (with sword). If you’d like to read about 20th-century Gothics (as opposed to the much earlier originals), Joanna Russ wrote a great essay about them called (IIRC) “Somebody’s trying to kill me and I think it’s my husband”.
I’m all a twitter for Moonshadow. Harrison has introduced or referenced some interesting characters from the European demesnes that I’m eager to get more of.

I really disliked What A Lady Needs for Christmas. I usually love Grace Burrowes but could not get into this story and hated the heroine. And the hero fell into the TSTL camp.
