  • Once More, My Darling Rogue

Once More, My Darling Rogue by Lorraine Heath

Once More, My Darling Rogue by Lorraine Heath is $2.99! This is book two in the Scandalous Gentlemen of St. James trilogy, and the first book is also on sale! This book has a 3.8-star rating on Goodreads, though several readers weren’t fans of the heroine. However, many loved the tension between the hero and heroine.

They are England’s most eligible bachelors, with the most scandalous reputations. But for the right woman, even an unrepentant rogue may mend his ways . . .

Born to the street but raised within the aristocracy, Drake Darling can’t escape his sordid beginnings. Not when Lady Ophelia Lyttleton snubs him at every turn, a constant reminder he’s not truly one of them. But after rescuing her from a mysterious drowning, he realizes she doesn’t remember who she is. With plans to bring her to heel, he insists she’s his housekeeper—never expecting to fall for the charming beauty.

While Ophelia might not recall her life before Drake, she has little doubt she belongs with him. The desire she feels for her dark, brooding employer can’t be denied, regardless of consequences. So when Ophelia’s memory returns, she is devastated by the depth of his betrayal. Now Drake must risk everything to prove she can trust this rogue with her heart once more.

  • The Royal Conquest

The Royal Conquest by Stacy Reid

The Royal Conquest by Stacy Reid is $2.99! This has a heroine who wants to marry an untitled hero. She falls for a horse breeder without knowing he’s a prince. Awkward. Reviewers on Goodreads recommend this for fans of Lisa Kleypas, while others thought the great plot potential fell flat. It’s book four in the Scandalous House of Calydon series and the others are also on sale.

His dark seduction will be her undoing…

After being cruelly jilted by a lord who claimed to adore her, Miss Payton Peppiwell swore her future husband would be as ordinary as she. Now if only her family would listen to her. Then she meets Mikhail Konstantinovich, an untitled horse breeder, in a highly improper and scandalous encounter. Never had Payton expected to be so attracted to the dark, intriguing man, who seduces her to recklessness with a mere stare.

Mikhail abhors anything to do with intimacy. Yet Miss Peppiwell stirs hunger and a need long forgotten in him. But Mikhail has a dark past—one that means his lust must be sated in a way entirely unsuitable for a lady. But his biggest secret will be the hardest for Payton to overcome: Mikhail is not only titled, he’s a prince

  • The Prince and the Player

The Prince and the Player by Tia Louise

The Prince and the Player by Tia Louise is 99c! This is a contemporary romance and also features a prince, but this time, the heroine is involved in a plot to take him down. I’ve heard it described as Cinderella meets Ocean’s Eleven, which sounds all sorts of awesome. However, some found many of the male characters to be jerks. Have you read this one?

    Let the games begin…

Runaway Zelda Wilder will do whatever it takes to secure a better life for her and her sister Ava. Crown Prince Rowan Westringham Tate will do whatever it takes to preserve his small country.

When Zee is blackmailed into helping a vengeful statesman take down Rowan, she never expects she’ll be pulled into a web of lies and international intrigue–much less that she’ll find herself falling for Cal, Rowan’s “playboy” younger brother.

Ava’s no help, as she finds quiet walks in the moonlight discussing poetry and leadership with the brooding future king irresistible. Even more irresistible is kissing his luscious lips.

They’re in over their heads, and the more time passes, the more danger the sisters are in. Shots are fired, and it’s soon clear even a prince might not be able to rescue these players.

  • Icing

    Icing by Kelly Jamieson

Icing by Kelly Jamieson is 99c! This is book two in the Aces Hockey series and you can grab the first two and preorder the third for less than $7! Many enjoyed the hero’s growth in dealing with his insecurities with women. However, some felt the romance progressed rather quickly in spite of the hero’s hang ups. It has a 4-star rating on Goodreads. The cover model is also giving me heavy Joe Manganiello vibes. Anyone else agree?

Hailed by Jami Davenport as her “go-to author for hockey romance,” the bestselling author of the Heller Brothers Hockey series sets the ice ablaze with another sexy novel featuring the gorgeous men of the Chicago Aces.

Duncan Armstrong may be an NHL star, but he’s a country boy at heart. His ultimate fantasy is going home with the Stanley Cup, not a gold-digging airhead who aspires to be a trophy wife and nothing more. Newly single and hoping to enjoy a night out with his teammates, he ends up hitting it off with a down-to-earth waitress who’s a complete breath of fresh air—until Duncan learns that she’s a part-time model. He tries to forget about her, but their sizzling chemistry has him coming back for more.

Amber is working hard to put herself through school, and has zero interest in dating a professional athlete. She’s seen firsthand how fame and fortune can mess with their heads—her father’s brilliant football career ended in a firestorm of addiction and infidelity. So Duncan’s attentions immediately have her on the defensive. Still, there’s something different about him. And once she stops trying to freeze him out, irresistible temptation turns into all-consuming passion.

  1. Liza S. says:

Ha, I thought the cover model on ICING looked familiar, but not because of Joe Manganiello. That brood, that beard, that cleft. His mirror image is on TS Joyce’s Boardlander Silverback.

  2. Lovellofthewolves says:

Once More, My Darling Rogue sounds like the Victorian era version of Overboard.

  3. Oooh, my favorite! A romance hero who thinks women are “gold-digging airhead[s] who aspire to be a trophy wife and nothing more.” And it has a heroine who’s not like other girls! Even better!

    Hard pass.

Incidentally, the phrase “part-time model” will never not remind me of “The Most Beautiful Girl in the Room.”

  4. CelineB says:

Bone Swans by C.S.E. Cooney is .99 everywhere but Kobo (still showing $5.99). I know it’s one that been mentioned on here for fantasy and fairy tale lovers.

  5. Hopefulpuffin says:

I really disliked that Heath. Probably my least favorite of hers that I’ve read. Having said that, I LOVED LOVED LOBED The Duke and the Lady in Red – the last in that series. Totally angsty. Totally shmaltzy. Totally OTT. And it gets me every time.

  6. Candace says:

I read the plot of Icing and all I keep thinking about is the Flight of the Concords song The Most Beautiful Girl.

  7. Betsydub says:

“But Mikhail has a dark past—one that means his lust must be sated in a way entirely unsuitable for a lady”.

Say WHAAAAT? Anyone care to be a spoiler? I’m all ears.

  8. Vicki says:

@Betsydub I have no idea but I immediately thought “oh, he’s gay,” when I read that.

  9. GenevaD says:

Just one-clicked Bone Swans–thanks for the heads up on that one. Have never read Cooney but the description reminds of Tanith Lee!!!

  10. Ginger says:

@Betsydub I’m wondering the same thing. I might have to take one for the team!

  11. No, the Other Anne says:

@CelineB and any Kobo readers: Kobo’s been really good about price matching. Fill out their form, including a link to the lower-priced offer, and they check it out and give you credit for the difference plus a percentage within a few days. I’m close to rounding out my Kearsley collection as a result!
