Hunt the Darkness
Hunt the Darkness by Alexandra Ivy is 99c at most vendors! This is number eleven in the Guardians of Eternity paranormal romance series, and it has a vampire hero and a witch heroine. It also has a bit of the enemies to lovers and fated mates tropes in the plot as well. Readers loved the chemistry between the hero and heroine, while others felt the plot lacked any action. It has a 4.3-star rating on Goodreads.
The vampire Roke is raw, sensual, always in control. Yet somehow he’s allowed the unthinkable to happen: a nymph-like witch named Sally has used her magic to trick Roke into mating with her. The pair will remain bound for eternity unless Sally breaks the spell. The trouble is, she has no idea how. . .
Mating with Roke was an accident;at least that’s what Sally keeps telling herself. She’s on the hunt for her demon father, whose identity holds the key to releasing the spell. The search won’t be easy with Roke shadowing Sally’s every move. As they mate with a ferocity that leaves them both aching for more, Sally isn’t sure if her world is more dangerous without Roke–or with him. . .

The Beautiful Ashes
The Beautiful Ashes by Jeaniene Frost is $1.99! This is the first book in her new Broken Destiny series, which is a New Adult paranormal romance/urban fantasy. Some readers mentioned having some confusion as they weren’t sure if Frost was trying to write something similar to New Adult, young adult, or a straight adult urban fantasy. However, others thought the blend of action and suspense balanced well with the romantic aspects. I’m sure some Bitchery members have read this one. What do you think?
Sometimes, falling in love really is the end of the world… don’t miss this fan-favorite tale from New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frost.
Ivy has always seen things that she cannot explain. Strange things. Otherworldly things. Blood of the Maple
Blood of the Maple by Dana Marie Bell is 99c at most vendors! This is a paranormal romance between a vampire hero and a dryad heroine, who happen to be neighbors. Ya’ll, I love paranormal romances with fae characters and this has been on my TBR list for a while. Readers seemed to love the colorful cast of characters in the book and the rest of the series, while others felt like there was too much going on. If you’re looking to binge read, you can pick up all four current books in the series for less than $13!
A seduction-gone-wrong leaves vampire Parker Hollis with a new vegetarian lifestyle and on the run from a vengeful witch. Moving to small-town Maggie’s Grove, Parker meets a redheaded dryad with green, leafy blood that draws him in a way he hasn’t experienced in decades. His new neighbor smells divine, and it isn’t long before craving gives in to need.
In a unique community of supernaturals, tree-loving outcast Amara Schwedler has never quite fit in. She’s scarred by a traumatic incident and feared by the local townsfolk. She’s convinced Parker will look elsewhere for a mate once he discovers she’s not one of the O-positive set, and can’t believe it when Parker finds her irresistible.
When the witch who’s been plaguing Parker’s life discovers the newfound attraction between Parker and Amara, she takes out her anger on the town. Can the supernaturals of Maggie’s Grove accept Amara and band together in time to withstand the assaults of the enraged witch?

Roaring Midnight
Roaring Midnight by Collean Gelason is 99c! This is paranormal romance with a vampire hunting heroine. This is also a spin-off from Gleason’s Gardella Vampire Chronicles series with a new Gardella descendant and set in the 1920s. Also, the very first Gardella Vampire Chronicles book, The Rest Falls Away ( A ), is free, which is a book Carrie reviewed previously. Readers loved the setting of the spin-off, but others wished there was more character development. It has a 4-star rating on Goodreads.
Amid the glitzy age of Jazz, when gangsters and bootleggers control the cities, there lies another, more insidious threat … the undead.
Macey Gardella is a typical young woman of the Roaring Twenties: she works a job, has her own flat, and loves to dance the Charleston. But when a mysterious man named Sebastian Vioget informs her she belongs to a family of vampire hunters, Macey is stunned and disbelieving.
Yet, strange and frightening things begin to happen, and when Macey comes face-to-face with one of the fanged creatures, she has no choice but to believe Sebastian. And when she learns his own soul depends on her willingness to carry forth the family legacy and hunt the undead, Macey capitulates and joins the fight.
As she begins to learn about her new life, Macey meets the handsome newspaper reporter known as Grady–who seems to know more about vampires than he should. When he begins to ask too many questions, she has to juggle her strong attraction to him with the need for secrecy.
Slipping into speakeasies and sampling bootlegged whiskeys, dodging gangster gunfire and trying to keep her nosy landlady from finding the stakes in her flat, Macey Gardella must navigate through a world of stunning violence, passionate romance, and dark betrayal…

I was completely enraptured with the combo Cyclops/Malibu Ken on the cover of Ashes – then saw the WereHipsters – Holy Taxidermy Batman!
I love Dana Marie Bell’s books! Highly recommended!
I really loved Jeaniene Frost’s Grave series and felt sad that she was switching to NA. The Beautiful Ashes was a quick read and had some interesting world-building. I feel sort of shortchanged by YA and NA generally because I want them to be full-on adulty.
Collin Gleason writes awesome historical erotica (retelling of famous books) as Colette Gale. Can anyone recommend other really well-done historical erotica/erotic historicals?
The full cast production of Joe Hill & Gabriel Rodriguez’s “Locke & Key”, with voice acting by Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Kate Mulgrew (Orange is the New Black), and Stephen King is currently free on Audible and with be free for the next month!
I like Dana Marie Bell a lot. She has a wonderful sense of humour, and her characters have a strong love of family (by blood or by choice) that I appreciate. The Maggie’s Grove series is one of my favourites and of the Maple is one of the most fun. It is something of a comfort read for me, I always end up smiling.
I also really like Elizabeth Hunter’s Elemental Mysteries. there is a great emphasis on history, and lots of suspense.
Dark Skye by Kresley Cole, The Darkest Touch by Gena Showalter, and The Silenced by Heather Graham are all on sale for $1.99 at BN.
