  • Romancing My Love

Romancing My Love by Melissa Foster

Romancing My Love by Melissa Foster is .99 right now – and only until 5/6/15. This is a contemporary romance and is book 7 in her Bradens series, though reviews seem to indicate that it can be read as a stand-alone. It has a 4+ star average on GR, where readers really liked the caretaking, take-charge hero and the heroine who is determined not to rely on anyone.

After months of caring for her terminally ill mother, Rebecca Rivera is left all alone in a world she doesn’t trust—but she’s determined not to let her mother’s death define her. Losing her job, having to pummel some jerk for being too handsy, and living in her car are just temporary setbacks to an otherwise solid plan in finding her footing. Full of pride and used to being in control of her life, she’s certain she can make it on her own. The last thing Rebecca needs is a man to fix her troubles—even if that man is strikingly handsome, wealthy, and charismatic Pierce Braden.

Pierce is a powerful real estate investor on the verge of a major acquisition. As the eldest of six siblings raised by a single mother, he’s spent his life protecting those he loves. He’s used to being in charge and making things right, and although he’d give his life for his family, he treats the women he dates as expendable—until he meets sexy and stubborn Rebecca Rivera, a woman who is as strong as she is vulnerable.

Passion ignites between them, and the two share their most intimate thoughts and desires. It doesn’t take long for Pierce to realize that Rebecca is as determined not to be saved as he is to find a way into her heart. As their love grows, Rebecca must face fears she didn’t even realize she had—and Pierce must learn the hard truth that sometimes less really is more. Is the power of true love enough for Rebecca and Pierce to learn to give up control and allow their hearts to take over?

  • Bear Meets Girl

Bear Meets Girl by Shelly Laurenston

Bear Meets Girl by Shelley Laurenston is $1.99 right now. This is book 7 in her Pride series, and it has a 4+ star average. I always struggle describing Laurenston’s books because they’re so unique. They’re campy and fun and serious and violent and the women take exactly zero shit from anyone, and they’re hot and explicit and funny and silly sometimes and they’re… utterly unique. And if they’re on sale, you should grab them!

He’s big, burly, and way smarter than your average shapeshifting bear. He’s also about to get trapped by own his game. . .

Lou Crushek is a reasonable, mellow, easygoing kind of guy. But once someone starts killing the scumbags he works so hard to bust, that really gets under his fur. Especially when that someone is a curvy she-tiger with a skill set that’s turning Crush’s lone-bear world upside down–and bringing his passion out of hibernation. . .

As a member of an elite feline protection unit, Marcella Malone has no problem body-dropping anyone who hunts her kind. But Crush is proving one major pain in her gorgeous tail. The only reason she’s joined forces with him is to track down the wealthy human who’s got her entire species in his ruthless sights. It sure isn’t because Crush’s stubborn and contrary attitude is rubbing Cella in all the right ways. . .

  1. Carol says:

Just seconding everything SB Sarah said about Laurenston’s books. And I’d like to add that it all goes double for “Bear Meets Girl”. My sides were in pain from laughing and my mind and heart were just happy.

  2. DonnaMarie says:

Wow, That Spring Fling is quite the deal! Also, yes, to everything said about Shelly Laurentson, especially any book featuring either the bear or tiger shifters. You can not have a beverage while reading. You could kill yourself if you sip at the wrong time.

  3. Tina C. says:

Just wanted to also recommend Shelly Laurentson. I haven’t read her shifter series, but I just finished The Unleashing and I LOVED it! It, too, was campy and fun and serious and violent and sexy. It’s an urban fantasy about warriors clans of various Viking gods and is specifically about Kera Watson, a former marine who is killed unexpectedly and her second life with the Crows, the only “clan” of Viking warriors made up of women from all over. It’s the first book in Laurenston’s Call of Crows series and I wanted to stay in this world so much that I just ordered Hunting Season, which is the first in The Gathering series and is also about Crows and the other Viking clans.

I keep seeing the ads for Bear Meets Girl – that’s a sign that I should buy that one, too, huh? 🙂

  4. LisaJo885 says:

I has a sad. 🙁 It is still May 6, only 4:12 p.m. here in Hawaii, and the Laurenston and Foster sales are gone. I guess I need to check your site out earlier in the day for these one-day deals!

  5. Susan says:

@LisaJo855: I’m still seeing the sale prices (@Amazon) on both of those books. Does HI have different pricing than continental US? Weird.

  6. Brett says:

I don’t know if you ladies have noticed, but Bound to Darkness by Lara Adrian is $4.99 (kindle) for pre-order on Amazon. The book before this one is still $10.99 (kindle).

  7. LisaJo885 says:

@Susan: I was looking at BN for the Nook books, and the sale prices weren’t there anymore by the time I looked. I imagine it has something to do with time differences and when sales begin/end on that site. I just know to do my book-buying earlier in the day. 🙂

  8. Celia Marsh says:

I can’t speak for the rest of the spring fling titles, but American Idle is EXCELLENT, and it alone is well worth the dollar for the set.
