This is an informal gathering – expect a lot of happy book talk and eating of crackers and cheese and cookies!
I would like to politely request that your next reviewer be based somewhere in the South so that those of us below the Mason Dixon can experience the squee-filled joy of a smart bitches meet up. I’d volunteer my house, but it’s so far off the beaten path that y’all might get lost and led astray by moonshine celebrities and Eric Rudolph’s cousins.
I went to college in South Carolina, so perhaps I need to swing back below the M-D to visit!
I had so much fun at the first meeting in Walnut Creek – book talk, food, book recommendations, wine, book talk, meeting people like Garlic Knitter and Carrie S who I’d previously only read about – and books. I wish I could attend this get together too, but with a complete lack of foresight, I have scheduled foot surgery for the day before the enclave. If it were any other kind of surgery, I’d slap on a big band-aid, grab my morphine drip and attend. But…foot surgery. Say there will be a next time? Please? Pretty please?
I really wish I could make this, but we are hosting an RPG that night, and I can’t drive up to Sacramento! Oh well, I’ll keep an eye out for next time.
