10th Anniversary Giveaway Celebration: Part 1

John DeSalvo in a hot pink toga grasping a woman with huge breasts - above it says Ten Years of Smart BitchesThis Saturday, January 31, 2015, Smart Bitches will be ten years old. Yay! We’ve been counting down each month looking back at some of the most popular pages in the site’s archives over the past year. Now it’s time to party!

So all this week, we’re celebrating with two giveaways each day – ten in all (see my elite math skills there? I double checked them, too) – until Saturday.

Over on the right, we have John DeSalvo and his hot pink gladiator outfit, because I have decreed that the 10th Anniversary for a Romance Blog must be decorated with hot pink gladiators. Or at least with a nipple. The traditional gift is now one DeSalvo nipple looking at you. Or me. Or both.

We have books, puzzles, crafty things, pretty things, sparkly things, drinky things – all the things! We’re giving away All the Things to celebrate.

Each giveaway will be open until 31 January 2015, and each prize pack is open to international residents where applicable by law. Must be over 18 to win.  Void where prohibited.

I have discovered so many authors here at SBTB! One of the first that I recall is when I started reading romance back in 2009 (a relative newbie, I know!) and you had a discussion/review of Lord of Scoundrels. I bought it and devoured it!

I discovered so many treasures on your blog! But mainly I come here for the laughs, the Bitchery, the snark, the D and F reviews and the sense of belonging. Thank you so much for these amazing ten years!

  30. Nat says:

I’ve been listening religiously to your podcast for the past year, so OF COURSE I’ve discovered new and fabulous authors. For starters, Rose Lerner and Courtney Milan, because their interviews were so good. And I didn’t know about Edith Layton until you mentioned her like one or two million times, so I got an old copy of Red Jack’s Daughter and I LOVED IT.

  31. Milena says:

Too numerous to mention by name, actually, but the one that stands out is Loretta Chase. Because, yes, I’ve never read her before I found SBTB. So thank you, thank you, thank you!

  32. AMK says:

I’m pretty sure SBTB introduced me to a whole lot of authors, but the newest discovery would be Theresa Romain.

  33. Lizzie R says:

So many – Sarah Morgan, Nalini Singh. Between Smart Bitches and Dear Author you’re basically responsible for my extending library and diminishing wallet.

  34. Meardaba says:

“Have you discovered an author’s books here at SBTB? Which one?”

Rose Lerner was the best thing recommended to me this year! I heard about her on the podcast, and have been gobbling up her backlist ever since.

  35. Ashley Morris says:

Actually, I read Lord of Scoundrels based on a review of it here

  36. Shashwati says:

Have you discovered an author’s books here at SBTB? Which one?

I have discovered all the romance I’ve read through SBTB so I owe you a lot! But in particular the ones that stick out are Courtney Milan, Eloisa James, Jennifer Crusie, Loretta Chase and Lisa Kleypas.

  37. Eva says:

I discovered Courtney Milan here. Thank you!

  38. Cassandra says:

10 years?! Woot! Here’s to many many more years of awesome posts and of course great reading! 😀 I’ve discovered so many amazing authors because of SBTB that I couldn’t really list them but by far my favourite would be Julia Quinn whose witty and great characters I probably wouldn’t have tried without one of your reviews.

  39. Texas Book Lover says:

I discovered Tessa Dare thanks to SBTB! Absolutely love her!

Thanks so much and congrats on ten fabulous years!

  40. Revmelinda says:

I have discovered so many new books here at SB. Probably the ones for which I am most grateful are the books by Lois McMaster Bujold and the Liaden series by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller.
