Books on Sale: A Mix of Perfect Weekend Reading

  • The Twelve Nights of Christmas

The Twelve Nights of Christmas by Sarah Morgan

RECOMMENDED: The Twelve Nights of Christmas by Sarah Morgan is .99c right now. I gave it a B+ when I reviewed it, and I really, really like this book, but you don’t have to take my word for it. Here’s Jan, who emailed me about it:

Speaking of magic, I don’t know if it was SBTB or Dear Author that featured Sarah Morgan’s book on the daily book deals. I’m thinking it was Jane Litte because I remember that they quoted you as saying this was a fantastic book.  OMG, I cried at the end!  I never cry…. Anyway, Sarah Morgan is now one of my fave authors. I did read her Christmas book last year, Sleigh Bells in the Snow. I enjoyed it but not like this one. Wow, how wonderful! Anyway, it’s nice to know you thought that 12 Days was fantastic too.  Just had to write and tell you I cried-I NEVER CRY!

Unexpectedly homeless for the festive season and exhausted from transforming the penthouse of the hotel where she works into a dazzling winter wonderland, chambermaid Evie Anderson secretly sleeps over. Woken by an outrageously sensual kiss, Evie feels her body come alive…until she realizes her seducer is Rio Zacarelli, her dangerously attractive new boss!

This Christmas, it’s imperative that Rio’s reputation appear spotless—but innocently enticing Evie is a temptation he can’t resist! Their scorching chemistry leads to twelve nights of endless pleasure. But will it last once the decorations come down?

  • First to Burn

First to Burn by Anna Richland

First to Burn by Anna Richland is .99c at most vendors. This is paranormal – the immortal kind, which you probably knew from the title – military suspense, with a hero who’s been alive for a long ass time (since Beowulf) and a heroine who is an Army officer who is suspicious of his ability to heal.

    A soldier with secrets

Immortal Viking Wulf Wardsen once battled alongside Beowulf, and now serves in Afghanistan. He’s trusted the mortal men on his elite special operations team to protect his secret, until an explosion lands Wulf in a place more dangerous to him than a battlefield: a medevac helicopter.

    A doctor with questions

Army captain Theresa Chiesa follows the rules and expects the same from others, even special forces hotshots like Sergeant Wardsen. She’s determined to discover the secret behind his supernaturally fast healing, and she won’t allow his sexy smile to distract her.

An enemy with nothing to lose

Even as Theresa’s investigation threatens to expose him, Wulf is stirred by her passion. Dreaming of love and a normal life, he wants nothing more than to build a future with her. But the lost Viking relic needed to reverse his immortality is being hunted by another—an ancient enemy who won’t hesitate to hurt Theresa to strike back at Wulf.

  • Deadly Descent

    Deadly Descent by Kaylea Cross

Deadly Descent by Kaylea Cross is .99c right now. This is military suspense romance with a pararescue hero (a whole other type of military badass) and a medic heroine (same). There are a number of boundaries between them professionally and personally, and readers seem to have loved that. This story has a 4+ star average and some incredibly positive reviews. Have you read this one?

Devon Crawford is an officer; Air Force Pararescueman Cam Munro is enlisted. Dev flies medical evacuations; Cam jumps into danger zones to save lives. Dev wants to return home from Afghanistan with her heart untouched; Cam will do anything to win the woman he loves.

Reaching for happiness in a war zone is the last thing Captain Devon Crawford plans, but she can’t ignore the feelings she’s hidden for so long. Cam’s sexy charm and wicked kisses weaken her resistance, but she’s too afraid of losing him to give in.

When Dev’s helicopter and crew are shot down and set up as bait by a notorious warlord, Cam risks all to save the team. What he doesn’t know is that the trap is set for him….

I read the Sarah Morgan book last weekend and didn’t really dig it. I did enjoy her other books a lot more (Sleighbells in the Snow and Maybe This Christmas). I think the whole billionaire thing isn’t for me.

But I am in the mood for Christmas/holiday books, so any other recommendations for those that are on sale would be great.

  2. Nicole says:

Oh dear, geography strikes again – this little Australian cannot catch a break.

If Santa could price match ‘Twelve Nights of Christmas’ on the Australian Kobo or Amazon that would be awesome.

From the Nicole on the Nice List (definitely, not that Nicole on the Naughty List. I have no idea who she is. Promise).

  3. SB Sarah says:

UGH. I’m sorry Nicole. The price matching in Oz (or lack thereof) makes me sad.
