1. A new design is coming.
Please hold onto your screams of outrage an anger until then (I'm kidding) (Sort of.) I know change is often really unpleasant but I and many other people are working hard to make sure the new design doesn't get in your way, buy instead makes your way easier as you navigate the Bitchery Mayhem HQ. (I cannot wait to share all the spiffy features and improvements.)
But, if you were thinking about advertisement in 2015, now is the time to contact me.
Why?
2. Advertising for 2015 is Now Available for Scheduling.
With the new design comes new advertisement opportunities on desktop and mobile platforms arriving January 1, 2015.
Until now, we've had no opportunities that included advertisements that would reach mobile visitors, but with the new design, we have several tiers of advertisement options. We've also improved and expanded the advertisement options to include a wider range of price points. So more options, more opportunities, and more awesomeness.

In your restyling, will you also consider updating the Search function? I reckon it’s the less satisfying aspect of the site at the moment. Many times I had troubles finding what I was looking for, even when I knew it had to be somewhere. Thanks! And especially thank you for letting us know in advance.

YES OMG that was like #1 on my list of PLEASE CAN THIS BE MAGICALLY BETTER. The EE (we use a CMS called Expression Engine/EE, and have since the site started in 2005) search is really unfortunate and limited. The back end (hur) search is really great but the front side is awful. One of the changes is that we’re moving the whole thing over to WordPress, which has a lot more search options that, you know, help you find stuff.
That said, if you’re looking for something that you know was on the site and can’t find it, please feel free to email me.
But yes, oh, yes, more better searching, coming soon!
On the other hand, if the New & Improved search function actually … you know, functions, that will eliminate the serendipitous results presented when searching, for example, author Rose Gordon. Although the first page of results showed nothing of Ms Gordon or her books, I spent a pleasant hour or so wandering through an old post and its 40+ comments before coming up for air and wondering, What was I searching for, anyway?
