There are two Nora Roberts discounts at Amazon today – and I'm thinking one is for a limited time. Dark Witch has been discounted to $2.99 for awhile – but now you can preorder Blood Magick, book 3 in the trilogy, for $2.99.
Blood Magick by Nora Roberts is available for $2.99 preorder at Amazon. Over the weekend, this book was discounted, but now it's down to $2.99 – and I'm betting it will change soon. This book comes out October 28, which in publishing land is November, and is book 3 of the new paranormal trilogy. If you know a Nora Roberts fan, or you've been waiting for sales on this series, books 1 and 3 are $3, so you could order all 3 for about $14.
County Mayo is rich in the traditions of Ireland, legends that Branna O’Dwyer fully embraces in her life and in her work as the proprietor of The Dark Witch shop, which carries soaps, lotions, and candles for tourists, made with Branna’s special touch.
Branna’s strength and selflessness hold together a close circle of friends and family—along with their horses and hawks and her beloved hound. But there’s a single missing link in the chain of her life: love…
She had it once—for a moment—with Finbar Burke, but a shared future is forbidden by history and blood. Which is why Fin has spent his life traveling the world to fill the abyss left in him by Branna, focusing on work rather than passion.
Branna and Fin’s relationship offers them both comfort and torment. And though they succumb to the heat between them, there can be no promises for tomorrow. A storm of shadows threatens everything that their circle holds dear. It will be Fin’s power, loyalty, and heart that will make all the difference in an age-old battle between the bonds that hold their friends together and the evil that has haunted their families for centuries.
Dark Witch, the first newest trilogy by Nora Roberts, is down to $2.99 at Amazon right now. This is a brand new trilogy, not a reprint, and is a paranormal – or, as I call them, a ParaNora. The next book in the Cousins O'Dwyer Trilogy, Shadow Spell, came out in April, and is priced at $7.99.
With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends.
County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations—and where her destiny awaits.
Iona arrives in Ireland with nothing but her Nan’s directions, an unfailingly optimistic attitude, and an innate talent with horses. Not far from the luxurious castle where she is spending a week, she finds her cousins, Branna and Connor O’Dwyer. And since family is family, they invite her into their home and their lives.
When Iona lands a job at the local stables, she meets the owner, Boyle McGrath. Cowboy, pirate, wild tribal horsemen, he’s three of her biggest fantasy weaknesses all in one big, bold package.
Iona realizes that here she can make a home for herself—and live her life as she wants, even if that means falling head over heels for Boyle. But nothing is as it seems. An ancient evil has wound its way around Iona’s family tree and must be defeated. Family and friends will fight with each other and for each other to keep the promise of hope—and love—alive…
RECOMMENDED: Firelight by Kristen Callihan is still $1.99 digitally right now. This is the first book in the Darkest London series- a very popular paranormal historical/steampunk series. Celia reviewed it for the 2013 RITA® Reader Challenge, and gave it an A, saying:
“Let’s just get it right out there: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I couldn’t and wouldn’t stop reading it. When I had to put it down to say, go to sleep, I’d think about it until it drove me crazy and the next thing I knew, the light was back on and I was reading again. It had all the elements I love; a bad ass heroine, a moody, sensitive yet bad ass hero, and sexual tension so thick you’d have to use a machete to cut through it.”
Miranda Ellis is a woman tormented. Plagued since birth by a strange and powerful gift, she has spent her entire life struggling to control her exceptional abilities. Yet he can't help being drawn to the flame-haired beauty whose touch sparks a passion he hasn't felt in a lifetime. When Archer is accused of a series of gruesome murders, he gives in to the beastly nature he has fought so hard to hide from the world. But the curse that haunts him cannot be denied.
Now, to save his soul, Miranda will enter a world of dark magic and darker intrigue. For only she can see the man hiding behind the mask.
The Bronze Horseman is $1.99 at Amazon – but I'm hoping the price matching fairies will throw down on this one, because SO MANY READERS love this book. Amanda calls it, “One of the most beautiful books I've ever read.”
This is an emotionally intense historical romance set in Russia during WWII. Some readers lose their consonants when describing how much they love this book; others found the story too melodramatic. This is one where people love it or hate it, but those who love it can go on for hours about all the things they adored. Have you read this book?
The golden skies, the translucent twilight, the white nights, all hold the promise of youth, of love, of eternal renewal. The war has not yet touched this city of fallen grandeur, or the lives of two sisters, Tatiana and Dasha Metanova, who share a single room in a cramped apartment with their brother and parents. Their world is turned upside down when Hitler's armies attack Russia and begin their unstoppable blitz to Leningrad.
Yet there is light in the darkness. Tatiana meets Alexander, a brave young officer in the Red Army. Strong and self-confident, yet guarding a mysterious and troubled past, he is drawn to Tatiana—and she to him. Starvation, desperation, and fear soon grip their city during the terrible winter of the merciless German siege. Tatiana and Alexander's impossible love threatens to tear the Metanova family apart and expose the dangerous secret Alexander so carefully protects—a secret as devastating as the war itself—as the lovers are swept up in the brutal tides that will change the world and their lives forever.
